- Well duh ... Anyone that lived in the 70s realizes that abortions did not start with Roe v Wade - only safe abortions for the middle and lower classes was the true result. The rich went to Europe or to friendly doctors for their safe abortions while all the others went to back alley butchers or tried home remedies. The anti-choice movement is not so much interested in stopping abortions as they are in moving them back into the alleys and making them unsafe once again. I guess in their twisted, morally self-righteous world they would rather see these women die. This is just another study, like dozens before them, that strips the charade from the anti-choice movement. I have no issue with them never wanting an abortion. I even have no problem with trying to show alternatives. But this study shows once again that all their moralistic fury will not stop what has been going on for centuries irregardless of its legality. It also shows Bush''s uneducated decision to limit what US health funds can support overseas has harmed women throughout the world. Anti-choice advocates just want this medical procedure hidden down some dirty alley. Then, I guess, they will go away until their Prophets for Profit decide they need more money for their coffers and rally their lemmings with another fake moralistic crusade.
