Man With Dangerous Strain Of Tuberculosis ID'd As Lawyer, Son-In-Law Of TB Expert

You must be on drugs. I was married in England, traveled to Greece, Rome, Paris also--so yes I have an idea of the price--but there is no price that justifies endangering other people's lives. There may be a special place in hell for people who judge him--but it will be in a hell of a lot more cooler section than it would ever be for a self centered *** who placed his enjoyment and his money over the lives of other human beings.
There just is no comparison, I don't care if a billion dollars was at stake--you are another self centered miscreant with not a clue. Never equate hundreds of human lives with a buck or a vacation--because you will lose every single time. - Reply to this comment
- "Cooksey said that had he known his daughter was at any risk, he would not have allowed her to travel. He said he did not act in any official capacity with the CDC on the case. "
That settles it, the father in law must be an incompetent and complete idiot. The risks his daughter is subjected to are the same whether she travels or not. Or does the so called microbiologist think the TB only kicks in on the road?
If his daughter is sleeping with, eating with, tonguing, etc this man, she is at risk. If she gets any viral infection and becomes debilitated, if she takes any immunosuppressive drugs--then she is at even greater risk. I am a microbiologist also--and I will be the first to say, on these boards that even within the scientific profession are a lot of people who fail to think before they speak. - Reply to this comment
- Classy responses. Do you Know him? What the heck does politics have with this? Also, do you know what it is to save for a trip like a honeymoon? There is a special place in hell for you guys.

- in the story: "He's a great guy. Gregarious," said Pam Hood, a former neighbor. "He's a wonderful guy. Just a very, very pleasant man."
I hate this when people say some gunman was 'a good kid' or some other cra p like that. He knew it was serious enough to have to lie and sneak his way back at the risk of others, and for what reason? Well, he does use the letter 'I' a lot in his explanations. I have no pity or mercy for this guy. He certainly can't prove he was concerned about anyone else "beyond a reasonable doubt". This guy may want to stay in isolation for the rest of his life. I notice nothing is mentioned about his wife, ironic if it turned out to be 'the runaway bride', herself. - Reply to this comment
- PROTO-TYPICAL Republishit Party member; selfishly making sure his wife and he enjoy their horneymoon, undoubtedly paid for by their adoring parents...so they can return to the USA with nice tans and their empty heads swimming with happy memories of infecting untold thousands of innocent fellow-travellers with their filthy thirties-era disease, caught who-knows-where...probably at a bachelor party for this piece of ********* LAWYER where diseased whoors were passed around like so much candy.
He deserves to DIE from whatever kind of filth he brought back into our Nation - and his family should be fined and made to pay for the hospitalizations that will result of innocent fellow-travellers that become infected from GoofNutz' mindless act. - Reply to this comment
- Typical Republican from the South, willing to hurt or kill hundreds of other people, just as long as he isn't inconvenienced in any way in his piggish life.

- From CNN:
"The man infected with potentially fatal tuberculosis is an Atlanta, Georgia, lawyer whose father-in-law works at the Centers for Disease Control. Andrew Speaker is now being treated in Colorado, as health officials track down people he may have infected. His father-in-law, Robert C. Cooksey, is a microbiologist who has researched tuberculosis for CDC. He said Speaker's "TB did not originate from myself or the CDC's labs." - Reply to this comment
- Should have known it was an attorney, one of the lowest forms of human life. This inconsiderate S*O*B should be shot and then hung.

- He was told he was on a do-not-fly list - obviously he was both being a jackhole about it to the CDC, AND he was very clearly told how serious this was.
He belongs in jail. Cuff him to the hospital bed. Anyone who gets sick, and we can go for some variety of manslaughter charges - does "depraved indifference to human life" ring a bell to this idiot lawyer?
At a minimum, he should be fined. For all the wasted resources going into tracking down everyone he might have passed this deadly disease on to, for the wasted time and stress of all those who are now notified they might have been exposed to this very deadly strain of TB (and thus now be exposing all of their friends and relatives), and a good extra million for sheer stupidity and callousness.
Oh and - guys, I don't think it's considerate - nor productive - to play with the delusional. Obviously Dan is not reading anything that people are writing here. - Reply to this comment
- retmilspouse "You seem to think there is a conspiracy around every corner. You live some kind of pathetic parinoid life. I feel sorry for you."
That is hillarious. This conversation is a laugh a minute. As I have said, there's no conspiracy, unless you are inventing one. I said before:
"According to Bush, terrorists should have killed me by now without his helping hand. And Gore says it'll be global warming, and I'll melt or something. And then there's bird flu and mad cow, and something somewhere "is bad" and will kill us all. That is not unusual. In fact, it's business as usual."
Many are eager to blame and murder and dubious grounds, and few are willing to admit greater faults all around us. The truth hurts, and that's why you're angry. Sorry, but you're apparently curious about why things are like this. I find it both funny and sad that so many people will get worked up over nothing, and sit idle when flames are blazing. And then they get angry? When we've been lied to before? When this threat is small and others are so large? Goshdarned hillarious. - Reply to this comment
- Adequate precaution and keeping him away from others is fine. But being bloodthirsty is sadly makes you worse than him. Apparently logic does not ever come naturally to the violent. Bizarre.

Based on the belligerent and ignorant way you continue to post (as if you want a fight and are amazingly paranoid)--there may be many on these boards who would be willing to trade your life for that of Andrew's--after all in the realm of azzwholedom--one stinker is as good as another. - Reply to this comment
- If selfish is watching out for your own butt, fending for yourself, then apparently you folks are being selfish by wanting him in prison, as your butt is obviously better off (Assuming the CDC even has the correct diagnosis).
Selfishness works both ways, not just for one guy. It is only a hypocritical entitled person who denies they are selfish, and then proves they are by condoning violence. This "good of the many" concept is all well and good, but don't even try to play the selfish card. We are all selfish. Most of all, those who want him killed. A murderer is far more selfish than a TB victim. For all I know Speaker might tip 50% in the restaurant, so he's still "selfish" by your reasoning. Idiotic double-speak. And then one stupid incident where NOBODY IS AFFECTED makes you murder-happy?
Adequate precaution and keeping him away from others is fine. But being bloodthirsty is sadly makes you worse than him. Apparently logic does not ever come naturally to the violent. Bizarre. - Reply to this comment

Dan9111,
No where in my comments have I condoned hurting or killing the guy. In fact I explicitly said I hope he stays unidentified or under the radar so as to keep some idiot from doing exactly that.
Please read my comment from earlier today:
"He also should hope that his identity is kept quiet because this is really getting alot of people really mad right now. I would hate that some nut job tried to do something to harm him. Being stupid is not a death sentence. But I could see someone trying to take this guy out."

- Political correctness has gone too far. This case shows that not all people with infectious fatal diseases are not responsible. People with HIV, TB and other potentially fatal infectious diseases should be imprisoned for knowlingly exposing others. The health of the MAJORITY is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than that of the rights of a few selfish, arrogant, psychopaths. Mr. Speaker should be treated at a prison hospital.

- Bob Cooksey said he gave his son-in-law "fatherly advice" when he learned he had contracted the disease.
I really want to know. What does a father tell his TB infected son going to honeymoon in Italy? - Reply to this comment
- I hope his rich, uncaring arse gets sued by all the people he affected. He, and his father-in-law, need to be imprisoned.

- retmilspouse "Man you are in need of some serious therapy. Do you really believe this stuff or are you just yanking our chain to see your name in print."
Time will tell, once the evidence is examined. Nobody ever examines the lies coming from the CDC. They just swallow the stupid pill. Taking a precaution is one thing. Condoning murdering the guy is plainly making you a greater danger than he is. I am not putting his saliva in your swimming pool. You shouldn't even be posting on here, if you like violent solutions so much. Disagree with me if you wish, but don't pretend to believe in peaceful discussion. - Reply to this comment
- This person is (supposedly) an educated man. His doctor said don't fly. Maybe when he gets out his doctor or a friend could tell him not to play in the street................

This guy came back across the Canadian border and was not stopped - despite being redflagged in the Customs and Border computer system. The same system that is going to control the new immigration laws......hah..... - Reply to this comment
- Despite warnings from federal health officials not to board another long flight, he flew home for treatment %u2014 fearing he wouldn't survive if he didn't reach the U.S.
Give us a break pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee! He is a graduate of the US Naval Academy he knows what a MedEvac flight is and how it is used. He just did not want to be inconvienced as he is a spoiled little boy that is used to getting his way. These flights have been used for years when Americans overseas have to get back to the US quickly for a serious medical reason. People don't believe his lame excuses for not following the protocol that his government was requesting of him. The fact that he is a veteran of our military makes it even worse that he has perpetrated this henious act on so many people. They are trained to guard and protect. Shame on you Mr. Speaker your family must be so proud of you at this moment. - Reply to this comment
