Perhaps when the Bush Presidential Library opens is a better time for a SHOE RALLY at the SMU Campus in Dallas, Texas. Better yet, everyone visiting the library in the future could just leave their shoes. I would not be surprised at a few attempts to memorialize the infamous Iraqi journalist and a ducking Bush in art or sculpture to grace the SMU grounds closest to the Library...or perhaps signage directing visitors to the "Shoe" Bush Library. With a Court-Appointed Presidency under his belt, along with resigning from his second term in office as Governor of Texas (30 days after relection to a four year second term)...and allowing Dick Cheney on the ticket as VP...small wonder that no WMD's were ever located in Iraq, the whole pretext for the invasion...and just as likely a bag with doggie pooh lit with a match on the doorstep. Intelligence was Bush senior's greatest quality....and did not rub off on his sons, Dubya, or Neil... But a Presidential apology for the faulty intelligence to get rid of a bad man......cost the US thousands of casualties and over 800 billion....so former VP Cheney....write us a check for the difference. YOU said it would only cost "50 Billion, Tops" so take it out of your Haliburton shares of stock...afterall...they got the NO BID CONTRACT to support the US Armed Services...on your estimate.
It is a shame we are judged by the world on the actions, views and opinions of our president and government and not on the real feelings of the everyday normal American citizen.
We are actually a much better class of people then perceived by the rest of the world. Our leaders and government are detested by many for our incessant meddling in the affairs of other countries.
I had some hippie friends in the late 60's and early 70's who sounded a lot like the comments here. It's like a stroll down Memory Lane to read the posts from all the "Mike" and "Gloria" types from "All in the Family" commenting here. Clearly, some people never move on with their youthful ideology and mature into reasoned adult human beings. They just remain radical right or left. They see no problem praising Reagan as one of the greatest presidents of all time or citing Clinton for being a good, even great, president too, while dismissing the facts that Reagan was the master media manipulator of all time or failing to note that any honest discussion of Clinton would include Monica, the dress, the stain and their meeting place in the White House and none of that could ever appear in an elementary or secondary textbook ... or maybe it could now, given where we're at with sexual commentary in this country. As for Obama, only the village idiot would believe he wasn't groomed by Oprah and promoted by her and brilliantly created by those in the media who owe her their allegiance out of respect or fear of reprisal if they didn't do her bidding on giving us an African-American King "O" to go with the Queen "O". As for Bush, his reflexes were really quite remarkable when he ducked those two shoes as his protection looked on in a stupor and many on the left cheered. You simply can't teach reflexes like that. You are either born with 'em or learn 'em while you're young ... maybe by ducking Mama Barbara's iron hand at the dinner table growing up, because he was too down-home to cotton to her Emily Post etiquette rules or as Ann Richards said it best, to get that silver foot he was born with out of his mouth to please his Mommie Dearest.

By jove, I think you may have something here... :-)
The "Monica Incident" is not the part that bears mentioning. Rather, some of the shady dealings such a Whitewater, "Travelgate," etc. are more worthy of inclusion in history than a personal moment of indiscretion that should have remained between him, his wife, and young Ms. Lewinsky
The Bush Administration's legacy to the world! They sought to do things on their own agenda for the 8 years of their tenure not giving a damn of what was violated to do so.
No one doubted the US when it sought to go after the terrorist in Afghanistan for the attack on 9-11, but when the US declared war on Iraq and afterwards internal reporting found that there was not one ounce of evidence to support it the world knew that this was wrong and believed it was a clear abuse of power.
The Bush administration have sought that the world is better with Saddam Hussien not in it yet we are seeing that even with new leadership in Iraq there are secret prisons and police holding political opponents which are some of the same reasons used to substantiate the previous conflict.
I miss W. No one could deliver an address like him. G.W.Bush: " More and More imports are coming from overseas". No one can "refuitiate" that. Of course, we do have a few reminders left like the W04 bumper stickers. Those people are letting you know they are loyal or that their car is at least 7 years old. W. could make a long lasting sticker.
Italy has also convicted 23 CIA agents for a kidnapping conducted on Italian soil. See MSNBC: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33620676/ns/world_news-europe/
Although this did not receive much press in the US. People here are livid. People here remember WWII and what the real Nazi/fascists did. They believe defense is more successful without resorting to these tactics.
Donald Rumsfeld reportedly fled France Oct. 26, 2007 after four human rights groups filed a criminal complaint against the former U.S. secretary of defense for "ordering and authorizing torture" of prisoners at Guant?namo Bay and Abu Ghraib."
And, there is a persistent rumor that the Obama admin cut a deal with European prosecutors to spare Bush, Chenny, Rumsfeld et al from criminal prosecution.
And, there were many other potentially criminal acts too - consider the use of depleted uranium against civilians and its effect on our own ground troops.
And, it may be one day in the US that the Bush gang is put on trial in the US for their actions and lies. Hopefully, this would prevent this type of disaster from happening again.
Italy needs to file extradition papers against them. We do have a treatyh with them and we would be obligated to turn our criminals over for trial. Why has it taken this long to seek real justice for the thousands they murdered?

Damn shame too.
