This would be a great idea for a reality show. Follow Habitat for Humanity as they build houses in New Orleans, or Oxfam as they work with local NGOs to set up a village cooperative in Bangladesh. Then I would consider buying cable.

I can just see our criminal mining corporation executives like the Koch Brothers shaking their heads at letting these little expendable, replaceable, lemming workers live. What a waste of their extravagant profits to rescue human WORKERS from a mine they own.

Isn't it great to see news that doesn't consist of tragedies, terrorist atrocities, partisan political spin, celebrity groupie junk and personal scandals? This is REAL NEWS about REAL HEROES who pulled together to do something that is really remarkable that had a happy ending. Congrats to all who made this happen.

It really is truly amazing what mankind can do when we all act as friends of one another and set aside borders and politics. I, like you, wish that we could find a way to see this more often, work together more often. Just imagine what we could do if we treated every hungry child, brother, sister, mother, father with the same compassion and respect as these men in the mine. All 33 lives were treated as valued and vital members of our universe. What a beautiful story. What a beautiful picture and template of what can be accomplished if only we could find a way to to make stories like these as addictive to society as the stories of human failure and celebrity defeat seem to be.

We thank the Chilean for not giving up, for the remarkable job they've done and for giving the world the true meaning of hope and appreciation for life.

And for their patience and gentleness. I'm especially moved by their outward shows of emotions, hugging and kindness. It's beautiful to watch.
