This thing we are doing now is not war. It is some kind of nation building rehab thing. Our weakness is our compassion.

shierp, in one post you bash somebody for not helping the needy, and then you claim compassion is a weakness. So which is it?

No tolerance for murderers! No mosque near "ground zero"! No immigration of anyone from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, Egypt or any other predominantly Muslim country. Pull the passports of Muslims visiting this country and deport them. Until Islam recognizes that the Taliban is nothing but an organized band of murderers, Islam is suspect as a cult of killers!

I still think we need to do a few things over there. 1) We organize the troops for a pullout 2) We make sure to leave civilians food,water,etc.. 3) We warn Taliban, Al Queda and whoever... We are going to leave. If you attack us or attack the civilians without provication we will attack. We will unleash the full power of the US and Coalition forces that you have never seen before. We will destroy any resistance to no avail. 4) We are willing to have peace talks on ways to better your countries with no prejudice.

Innocents killed in war is always a sad thing. Makes no difference which side does it.

Launching missiles into a home full of innocents and mudering innocents with pistols achievs the same result.

We do not belong there and Afghanistan is one of the most dangerous places on earth: for the violent American occupiers. How are the native freedom fighters supposed to tell the difference and trust any American after what we have done to them?

Some of these comments are just outright rude and thoughtless. One of those killed was a family friend. She was not stupid, just loving, giving and wanted to help others. As the saying goes, if you don't have something nice to say...

life is about choices. these people chose to be there and had to know the risk of death was extremely high. muslims kill muslims, christians kill christians or has everyone forgotten the protestants/catholic killings in ireland already. one religion is no better than the other.

It was really stupid to travel around this country without protection. Bad for Christians, but, it really doesn't matter one bit. Muslims never seem to have any problem with killing other muslims. They kill each other all the time all over the globe.
We should not be in Afghanistan. We should leave. We could easily kill off every single human being existing on Afghanistan soil. Making war is no problem. We kick hiney when it comes to making war. This thing we are doing now is not war. It is some kind of nation building rehab thing. Our weakness is our compassion. The bad guys know it. We should pick up our toys and go home.

Killing people and destroying things is how a war is conducted. You kill and destroy until the other side capitulates or no longer exists. That is war. That is why we should be there no longer since we are not willing to go to the necessary extreme to win this. I agree, we should leave because I too don't think that we should do what we are capable of and kill everyone. What part of my statement did you not understand, uubrew12?

It is sad. But it is equally true that there is a martyr streak among Christians that make them take dangers in their hand just to prove how "good" they (not they as persons, but they as Christians) are compared to people of other faith. Afghans can see through this. The mission was for Christianity, not for the afflicted Afghans. Sorry. It should not have happened. But zealots are everywhere, and they are clamoring for our sympathies by dying.
