There should be no reason both parents and kids can't get assistance! Why take the kids? This was done in the 1930's Great Depression. Children were removed from needy households, instead of assistance given to everyone. This resulted in babies being sold for cash. This became a scandal when a greedy bureaucrat took babies away from people who weren't poor. Yes, when they have to take the children away, a red flag should go up.

She's a divorced mother of 2 children. She can't get her own personal or business affairs in order. She's lost her home, and she has failed to pay or potentially swindle the hired help at her business. Now she's screwed up big time in Haiti. What a loser. Is she even a fit mother to raise 2 kids of her own? And to think she tried to illegally transport 33 Haitians to the Dominican Republic, and her goal was for 100 Haitian children. Oh h#ll no. This woman is trying to take giants steps way before she even knows how to crawl. She needs to stick to trying to parent her own 2 kids before branching out.
What this lady did reminds me of slavery, she is taking people away from their homeland, she didn't go through the proper channels and she knew that what she was doing was wrong, she was warned, she did it anyway so I say lock her up.
