A MAN JUST WALKED UP TO ME AND ASKED ME TO POST SOMETHING HE THOUGHT WAS A GOOD IDEA,AFTER HEARING HIM....ITS AN excellent IDEA.
HE SAHTYS WE SHOULD PLACE AN "EXPLOSIVE" RIGHT INTO THE EYE OF THE STORM...AND SET IT OFF...MAKING THE STORM TURN INTO RAIN AND MAKING THE STORM "LESSER".
ITS WORTH A SHOT IF YA ASK ME.
HE READ ME SOMETHING FROM THE BIBLE AND TOLD ME IT WAS NICE TO HAVE MET ME...AND WALKED AWAY
GOD BLESS HIM-DANA SUTHERLAND

I couldn't agree more. Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas! You would think a news network would make sure the location is accurate. But I bet they think that Toronto is the capital of Canada too!!

Re: "But other businesses on Paradise Island, where the capital of Nassau is located, remained closed."

Nassau, the capital of The Bahamas, is not on Paradise Island. It's on New Providence.

You'd think CBS could get the capital city of an entire nation correct.

Makes you wonder what else they are getting wrong ...

There is a full moon on Monday. That coupled with any sort of storm surge will put NYC in a heap of trouble. Lower Manhattan is less than 5 feet above sea level. The water will pile up in the corner made by NYC and New Jersey and wil have nowhere to go except up 5th Avenue. This could be big. I hope it isn't, but there's too much probability that it might be.

I'm a New Yorker, and that isn't going to happen.....the worse we've seen has been some flooding on one of the highways near the East River....and the Huson seperates NY from NJ, so what "corner" are you talking about ??? and by the time it gets this far north, the cold air would immediately kill any hopes a hurricane has of surviving, as hurricanes REQUIRE warm air for their very existence.

This is the most important political campaign development of the day. This storm will make landfall about a week before election day, and will impact the swing states of Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. Democratic voters tend to be impacted by severe weather more than GOP supporters. In fact, it's tradition to estimate Democratic turnout in part on the weather. A rainy day can harm turnout, and a big storm can destroy it, and Sandy is a storm of historic proportions.

Nice headline. Cubans cry when they get sand in their eyes, and so will Americans.

Eabarth, if the headline is so nice I hope you help your affected neighbors with the clean up, and contribute financial to restoring their assets. Agree?

If I were a FoxNews watcher, I would be blaming this storm on the Liberal Elites. But i am not insane, so I guess this is just a natural event

If I were an MSNBC viewer, I would accuse Mother Nature of being a racist for attacking Hispanics with rain and wind. But I am not a liberal idiot so I guess a weather report is just a weather report.
