These people are out of thier f-n minds - They're seriously f-t up in the head.

We really need to start increasing the safe harvesting, production and distribution of our own natural energy here in the USA, rather than paying for fuel from countries where they hate us. Let's keep that money and those jobs here in the US.

Drilling here at home might not be the whole answer, but it's certainly a good place to start.

Interesting that Rob Portman, speaking with Charlie Rose this morning said he "didn't know" that the video and the embassy response came out before the actual attack.

WOW...unreal how the Romney camp doubles down on a mistake and looks like fools on national television. Romney is a hate filled man that has no place in the white house.

The following is an excerpt from an AP article I read this morning. It sums up just how out of touch and inexperienced Romney really is:

"Some Republicans with experience in national security matters questioned the GOP candidate's handling of the events and top Republican leaders in Congress did not echo Romney's remarks. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said Obama "correctly tightened the security overseas." Asked about Romney's remarks, he declined to answer and walked toward his office in the Capitol.

Romney's account didn't mesh completely with events in Cairo."

What Republicans don't seem to get.

Romney F**ked up.

He said Obama had apologised to the extremists over the American dead.

The US Embassy in Cairo had previously issued a statement about the unhelpful nature of a film after an unarmed protest in the Egyptian capital which had fizzled out by midnight.

In a totally separate country, Libya , A totally separate armed Islamist militias with al qua'ida connections stormed the US compound with grenade launchers and assault weaponry in a planned terrorist attack .

Nothing to do with any non-apology from an Egyptian Embassy.

Romney ran in on the strength of incomplete and inaccurate media reports as the story was breaking and made an utter fool of himself, not only in America but in the eyes of the world.

Europeans are very, very grateful to America for their continuing support in Libya , a country which is geo-politically strategic to the safety, security and economic prosperity of Europe.

SEND IN THE MARINES ?

Aerostar700 asked, "Why weren't our diplomats being protected by ARMED MARINES?"
--------

The armed Marines you demand are not posted at every diplomatic location, nor have they ever been posted everywhere under any president.

The primary duty of the Marine Corps Embassy Security Group is to protect classified assets, which will exclude even the majority of consulates. The MCESG mission does not focus on protection of personnel, although that may be a secondary responsibility.

In Benghazi, Libyan guards were assigned responsibility for some aspects of consulate security, but employees of the former Blackwater, now known as Xe, were specifically assigned to protect consulate personnel.

Several of the Libyan guards were killed by an al Qaeda penetration squad, but there is no information yet on three Americans, who may have been staff, or were the ambassador's personal guard.

In any case, it was Blackwater/Xe which protected the ambassador when visiting the consulate. Outsourcing diplomatic security to Blackwater/Xe was a general arrangement established under the Bush administration.

But since you are now very concerned about gaping security holes created by Bush outsourcing well before Obama took office, you must also recall America was left defenseless by the indifference of George Bush to detailed, actionable information about al Qaeda back in May, 2001, well before 911.

The latest news about what Bush knew and his total inaction in the face of dire warnings from the CIA about al Qaeda attack mark him as the most untrustworthy and dangerously incompetent administrator this country ever has suffered, at the cost of more than 3,000 American lives on 911.

Of course, only 19 months later Bush launched his fraudulent and illegal invasion of Iraq-- leading to the deaths of 4,488 US troops, and an estimated 100,000 wounded. (http://antiwar.com/casualties/).

And lest we forget, the Bush invasion of Iraq began a conflict leading to the violent deaths from 2003 to 2011 of an estimated 114,000 Iraqi civilians. (www.iraqbodycount.org/analysis/numbers/2011/) or as many as 600,000, according to a 2006 study by Johns Hopkins. (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/11/world/middleeast/11casualties.html?pagewanted=print)

How ironically Bush named his war "Operation Iraqi Freedom".

BUSH DENIAL COMPLEX ?

"Bush Derangement Syndrome" is a defensive term used by those who have refused to accept information about George W. Bush more recent than 1999.
Its involuntary use in conversation is a verbal tic which marks the Bush / GOP "loyalist" still in full denial.

The response reveals a spasmotic reflex of the conservative mind that it ever could have embraced the likes of George Bush under any pretext. Sensitivity will vary by individual, with certain trigger phrases sufficient to bring about acute episodes of robotic behavior and withdrawal.

Recovery is a great deal to ask of any sufferer. Long-term prognosis depends on personal vital signs, like innate curiosity and intelligence (the traits are often paired), the willingness to recast "eternal truths" according to later information, and a studied indifference to ideology, with a strong, developing preference for fact.

If the attack from the military of a host country you may have a point, but no one yet knows the identity of the terrorists - because that's what they were. This was a planned raid that infiltrated a protest to gain embassy access. The Libyans lost security forces in the attack too, and held a pro-US rally yesterday. This was the act of a small group of extremists, not the Libyan people.

Wow give them some time to find out who did it first. Have we already forgot the last time we just went in guns blazing before we had the facts? We wound up in a second war, Iraq, looking for terrorists. Going all crazy and condemning a whole country, or religion even, for the actions of a small minority just makes everything worse. These nut jobs only get in power when they can convince the population they need protection from crusaders. We need to get the people who did it and only them. It needs to be clear this is not Christianity vs Islam.

ABSOLUTELY agree. Israel is destabilizing the entire middle east and wants the US right in the middle of it. (Of course my comments are blocked on this site because of my stance against their warmongering). Can't have opinions showing up that don't agree with Israel policy.
