The French get more stupid by the day. They'll be sorry and they deserve this commie.
If Sarkozy was a Conservative then this Hollande must be Stalin re-born.
Fortunately we are getting rid of our socialist president in November so things do balance out in the universe.

President Obama is the best, most level, most capable prez we've had since FDR. Try to imagine wooden-man Romney debating our genuinely brilliant and fluid prez; Obama dominates the first Tuesday in November.

Ha! Ha! I was just thinking that, but forget to add it to my post.
I was laughing thinking about those nutty frog leg eating frogs.
The Brits are just as stupid. I wonder how long it will be before they storm Buckingham Palace and the Queen loses her head.

What really cost Sarkozy the election was his pandering to the Far Right. He crossed the red line when he started to sway to his party the Le Pen voters. Bad idea. Listen carefully Romney. Sarkozy is another cautionary tale, Cameron being the first.

indeed. It's terrific to get a more inclusive view, KPeters, than that of the average ill-educated American.

I get such a charge out of reading these comments what will happen has happened so many times in the past. The conservatives win then the liberals win then the conservatives win.

It shouldn't be a game that people play we should be working as a team but then that is what this guy wants let's see if he can do it. If he does then good for him.

I wish him the best.

Hollande also hasn't any real experience running anything, let alone having any solid political experience...France will decline under Socialism more rapidly because of the bent on bigger government and wasteful spending, much like the U.S. and our current president, who Hollande shadows in most ways, or vice-versa...

Conservatism is dead. I'm shocked. They screwed up the world and then continued to screw up Europe, so finally they get the bum's rush. I didn't dislike Sarkozy. He had a very solid view of the world and will be missed on that account.

Unfortunately, we have extremist, corporatist republicans trying to gain the power here, so hmmmm...I think not. That group would happily bring back the indentured servants and poor houses of days better left in the past.

And your kids will all be indentured servants to the government if we don't trim the cheats and get the cheats off the payroll. Not retirees who had the SocSec $ taken from their checks for over 50 years and should get it back at 50 years' interest. But the cheats, and the pork barrel legislators. How about a moratorium on pork barrel spending for 2 years for a start? I bet the Dems and Repubs can't do it. They're hooked on our money.

We'll be broke by 2016 with conservatives after they start wars in Iran and Syria. The conservatives are all for making the industrial miliatry complex richer.
BestSocialPrgrm replies:

Regressiveness? A society that, for example, kills millions of its unborn potential taxpayers, workers, and innovators is not progressive. It's regressive.

Do some research. The top 1% of income earners pay 70% of the federal government's income. 47% pay nothing, and the bottom 50% make up less than 4 percent of the government's income. Even if you raise taxes to 100% on the rich you wouldn't be able to pay off the deficit.

The wars did not drive up the debt as much as entitlement programs have. Social Security is unfunded, Medicare/Medicaid liabilities are larger than our GDP and federal debt, and yet you have Barack Obama, Democrats, and even French socialists who don't understand that when a country goes broke, it becomes REGRESSIVE. No more anything, at that point. Fiscal conservatism is the way. Vote conservative.
