This pond scum wants death or an acquittal, so therefore he should spend the rest of his life in an 10 X 8 cell preferably on Guantanamo surrounded by the people hates the most. Too bad Norway is so lenient 21 years is not enough, he deserves the Charles Manson sentence, they are both truly evil

Neuro, what an idiotic thing to say. It's amazing how trolls on both sides can politicize any issue.

Everyone once in a while, a case comes along where the outcome should be obvious to everyone, and justice should just be handed out swiftly. This guy is that case. Why bother with a long, drawn out trial. Stand him in front of a wall and shoot him just like he shot all those kids. Case over.

Too easy. I would rather see a long drawn out punishment

Switch_Fields says:
This case is the perfect example of why there will always be a place for the death penalty. This man is sane, meaning he understood the nature of his actions, and he knew that his actions were wrong and illegal at the time. He choose to be a murderer of innocent people, and he has no remorse whatsoever. He should be permanently removed from existence, as a punishment, as a deterrent, and as some small, almost insignificant retribution for the victims and their families.

He has had his public trial. He has spewed his irrational, unconscionable, hate-filled speech, and now he should die.

It is an insult to the dead that this man can only get 21 years for these crimes. The people of Norway need to take a close look at their system or this will happen again. The fact that he could be walking free at the age of 54 to live possible decades in the free world after taking the lives of dozens of innocent people in an unmerciful and sick way is very twisted.

He will never ever be released. The 21 year sentence means nothing in this particular case. The only way this nutbag will leave prison or a mental facilty will be in a casket.

Why only 21 years maximum??? He should be put away for the rest of his miserable, evil life. I guess that they don't have the death penalty.

No, it was extreme nationalism and paranoia that fueled this. But, by all means, feel free to dispense some more of your special verbal diarrhea

It's not just over there...In the US peopel are reluctant to use the death penalty...Connecticut just did away with it... No in the past few decades, people have changed and are now "softer" more willing to excuse than punish.

As is mentioned in other comments, he will never be released. After 21 years he will most probably be deemed unfit to be released into society.

What do you mean "too graphic for any parent to hear"? Every parent needs to hear this, to see what the risk is of letting our children become radicalized, whether it's through anonymous users on 4chan and right-wing blogs or religious militants.
