TomMariner says:
Why are the pseudo journalists all around the world printing this demented monster's words as if a human was uttering them? Once a quasi-respectable bunch displays the sentences, all of the lesser nutcases feel free to opine on his motives -- which one would ordinarily only proscribe to a sane person.

One wonders whether he should be executed or what

Why should society keep this creep alive. We should only look at him as a source of a heart, two lungs, two kidneys etc. Cut him up and use him for spare parts to help outher people have a normal life.

Crazy MF. This one is a rare nut case. His brain and the other parts of him could be studies in med schools and research centers. Do with him as Amour meat packing used to say about cows - we use everything but the moo.

Typical ignorant gun-nut response. I suppose all the kids on their retreat should be expected to be packing heat next year? You're not as crazy as Breivik, but getting there. And by the way, I'm a gun owner, just not a gun-nut.

closethippy1......

How many of those gun deaths occurred 77 at a whack? The only thing close is VA Tech, and, again, a place that considered itself a "gun free" environment

The number of dead 77. With max in prison 21 years, if found sane. Life doesn't count for much. Disgusting!!!!!!!!

Damnit, no. If he is sentenced to 21 years, after that is served the courts will assess if he is still a danger to society and extend the sentence by 5 years. And after those extra 5 years, they do the same again. Unless he somehow changes dramatically and completely changes his way he will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Norwegian justice system is based on reform and making prisoners productive members of society again after they have served their prison sentence. Compared to other countries like the US, where life in prison is a punishment - and not the seclusion - Norways 20% recidivism rate compared to the US 50%+ recidivism rate shows that it works.
