It's gonna be a big job turning that ship back up right.
I imagine they will seal, weld, and pumpout water, patching it up along the way....probably finding more passangers...

[traces of cocaine were found on a sample of the ship captain's hair.]

most of the paper money in his pocket likely would have tested positive for it as well.

I remember when the story first broke he was in his cabin with his lady friend and as the ship ran aground he fell to the floor and somehow his face became enmessed in her undergarments. Dazed he staggered out of his cabin where he lost his way to the boat deck still trying to remove the undergarments. He then fell into the life boat and was lowered away to safety. I think the undergarments were finally removed and left on the pier.

There are some jobs were the use of cocaine is and should be grounds for dismisal, even if you were not using it when the incident happened. If he willfully took cocaine then he is the wrong person to captain a ship. It indication a lprofound ack of judgement

It would only seem logical that he brushed up against a drug user during the evacuation of the boat.

A liberal amount of drug use can't hurt none, can it?

I really don't care if they found drugs in this man's hair but I do care that he killed so many people and some can't be found and others were injured and others will never get over what happened to them that is what I care about nothing more nothing less.

He should be thrown into jail nevr to come out again and that is what should happen to him.

ddaryl1 says:
if it is in the hair it doesn't mean he was using it at the time.

This is what bothers me regarding drug tests. If someone used a substance 2 weeks or 2 months ago it would still show up, but it would have absolutely no bearing on incident being investigated.

Bottom line is the captain re-programmed the ship course and that alone is the issue... He is guilty for not following the ships planned route

aubfmet says:
Hair analysis is also used for the detection of many therapeutic drugs and recreational drugs, including cocaine, heroin, benzodiazepines and amphetamines.[4][5] In this context, it has been reliably used to determine compliance with therapeutic drug regimes or to check the accuracy of a witness statement that an illicit drug has not been taken. Hair testing is an increasingly common method of assessment in substance misuse, particularly in legal proceedings, or in any situation where a subject may have decided not to tell the entire truth about his or her substance-using history.
