it is very sad that one of the greatest country the u.s is driven to iraq &afgan war by the most corrupt people for there on sake ofcourse for oil . these politicians only need billions of dollers and dont care about the innocent lives tha are being killed
160,000 troops in Iraq, and even after Obama lowers the number by 80,000 by August 2010 as promised, that will still leave 50,000 troops in Iraq. We have 60,000 in Afghanistan with no exit plan.
All presidents, soon as they become Commander in chief ask the same question, What good is it to have the most powerful military in the world if you can't put a few puppets in power somewhere. Go for it Obama, after Afghanistan there is Chavez, North Korea, and Iran. And fun can be had by all.
..making August the deadliest month of the eight-year war for U.S. forces. ---
dubya and his boys drew down our forces in Afghanistan after routing the Taleban and went head-huntin in Iraq rather than proeute this war.
They basically marked-time for 7.5 years never taking any ground and holding it, which is how wars are actually won.
The new approach by Obama's administration is to do just that which will finally mean progress, but it comes at a cost.
The more US forces in Iraq & Afghanistan, the more US targets, the more massive costs-all of what the enemy is trying to accomplish-the damage done to the US economy likely has destroyed the future generations of the nation-all that can be done now ,it to pull way back & limit more damage=the surge worked=too bad it worked for the enemy!
When will it dawn on members of the GOV'T. that THIS TIME war IS NOT the way out of a recession. The TALIBAN provides most of the world's POPPY for pharmaceutical and recreational use. I'll bet they are not in a recession. The US cannot afford to continue this Children's Crusade. I hope President Obama doesn't perpetuate President Bush's error.
When I was in Nam, there were 300 Americans dieing each week, there were far more of the enemy dieing. The war has been managed very well or the casualty lists would have been higher. What is keeping this war going besides the negative reporting is the division here at home. For the American people to unite would be a sharp blow for our enemys, they like us to be divided, as long as the division keeps up they win, simple as that. the biggest problem countering unity in this country is the left doesn't want us to be united to win the war, division works for the liberal agenda, and they don't want anything to change till they get what they want. Then they want the country to be united with them, a one party government is the goal of the dems.
When Iran gets its nukes, they will use them, and they don't just want to stop with Isreal. Obama is appeasing our enemys and pushing away our allies, he is cutting our throats for his own agenda with his muslim brotherhood buddys, don't be suprised if some of our super weapons accidently dissapear. 'O' is not on our side, other wise he wouldn't have cut the funds to keep our forces up to parr with their weapons. There are reports coming back from the troops of shortages that are crucial to them staying alive, "O' has never been in the shoes of those who defend us and really doesn't care about them, the second enemy our troops have to worry about is the one who is supposed to be at their back from the WH. That hasn't happened yet.

What are you talking about? Why dont you articulate a response we can be certain that we understand?""
My message was received loud and clear by the person it was intended for.
Only down to 50,000 by August 2010, which is only 10,000 less than we have in Afghanistan today.
What is the exit plan for Afghanistan?
