- hmmm someone commented on how this latest batch of bloodshed in the war on drugs is somehow attributable to president obama ? Not entirely untrue perhaps ? It could be that president Obama has spurred some people here in America to put the drugs down and give life a try ? And with a supposed decrease in demand and the overridding economic downturn as being particulary hard on the drugs merchants when both demand and currency values have diminished as severely as they have ?

So, what you're saying is, Obama wrecking the economy is a GOOD thing because now the druggies don't have enough money to buy drugs anymore and now the "drug merchants" are becoming increasingly violent and dangerous as they lose their income?
Apparently you forgot that PEOPLE HERE IN THE USA have already been attacked by "drug merchants" who crossed the border freely and waged their gangland wars on U.S. territory. Children have been kidnapped, others have been beheaded.

The usual way things used to be done is Rueda would be arrested and La Familia would bribe some people to look the other way and a few days later Rueda would have "escaped" It's much cheaper than hiring 2-3 dozen paramilitary hitmen. These hitmen know that they are most likely going to die so their fees are astronomical. La Familia would only go the hitmen route if the usual ways wern't going to work - and it looks like in this case they wern't.
Remember, these street-level federal agents are the ones on the ground who have developed their contacts with informants and have intelligence networks setup. If you can kill them it delays the Federal anti-drug efforts to the point that you can get your people out of the area before they are arrested.
The attack to free Rueda failed, not only did it fail to break him out but it failed to kill him, which would have been the alternate if La Familia couldn't break him out. Rueda knows that the longer he's in jail the less likely that if he were to somehow get out, that La Familia wouldn't just shoot him on sight. So every day that he's in jail and isn't broken out, he's got more and more incentive to just start talking and try to cut some kind of deal. La Familia knows now that it's only a matter of time before Rueda is singing like a bird in prison, spilling all the names of his drug associates. They have to quickly pull their people out of their drug production and distribution network and replace them with other people before those networks are destroyed by too many people being arrested. Thus, La Familia attacks now to gain some time.
Ultimately, all these attacks do is make the surviving Federal agents realize that it's either them or La Familia, and it makes them all the more determined to arrest or kill as many La Familia people as they can, before La Familia kills them. Well, La Familia may be rich but they can't match the wealth of the Mexican government and the US combined, ultimately, La Familia will be taken out. Only a fool would assume that La Familia would go quietly without trying to do everything possible to take revenge on the Federal people. - Reply to this comment

First, it doesn't result from a failure of Obama! These drugs battles have been going on IN MEXICO for decades! However, now they are getting particularly bloody and occasionally spilling over into the U.S.!
Second, Obama has been in office SIX MONTHS, he hasn't been around long
enough to EARN the title of 'worst president', currently held by Bush!
Third, the Somali pirates have been operating along the African coast for decades. Some checking would reveal whether or not they've ever 'grabbed' any other U.S. captains. But, even if they hadn't, it doesn't mean they did specifically BECAUSE he's president, now! Anymore than they did it because you posted about them on CBS!
Fourth, I agree! N.Korea never launched seven missiles in one day before Obama was president! Primarily, because they didn't have seven missiles of this type to launch prior to very recent times! Therefore, they couldn't!
Fifth, I know there are MILLIONS of illegal workers (some would say aliens) in the USA, I'm just not sure GREAT numbers are connected
to gangs, though I know a few are!
Sixth, you didn't convince me that Obama exudes weakness or he's endangering our national security! Therefore, your conclusion stands unproven! Though, I think a case might be made for it!

Nope, it's not long now before some major catastrophe happens, of 9/11 proportions. Remember how they said Bush was to blame for 9/11 because it was on "his watch?" But if something similar happens this September, don't you know they'll blame it on Bush again because he somehow "started it???"
Democrats are the part of NO responsibility. They still haven't held Ted Kennedy accountable for the death of Mary Jo, even though he pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in the death of his passenger.
So why would we expect them to take responsibility for anything else?

- I'm not happy about Obama either DarthCheney, but I'm not sure there is a huge connection on this. It behoves us to not overplay our emotions when complaining about Obama.
I would like to be perceived as someone that is objective and not quite so subjective. It carries more weight when it is needed.

It's alarming that the drug gansters are growing more dangerous in Mexico. They have already committed heinous crimes here in the USA.
With the hoardes of illegal workers (a.k.a. INVADERS) swarming across our border every day, there is a severe risk that drug criminals are swarming in with them. We are in serious danger of an abrupt escalation of drug violence in the USA if we don't CONTROL OUR BORDER IMMEDIATELY.
Obama IS grossly negligent for continuing the failed Bush policy of looking the other way while illegal invaders swarm across our border and take our jobs. That extreme threat to our national security can VERY EASILY and QUICKLY mutate into VIOLENT DANGEROUS GANSTERS swarming across the border just as easily.
Obama MUST address this issue QUICKLY or else we will soon see the same drug ganster wars in the USA. And not just near the border but THOUSANDS OF MILES into U.S. territory.
We are in grave danger from Obama's weakness. This is something that should have been addressed already. Remember the swine flu scare? Well, that problem won't go away.
