Yes. It is all the fault of white colonialists. These people lived in perferct Eden like harmony until the arrival of the white man on their continent. They knew no violence. Nor hunger. They did not polute the environment. They got free education and health care too.

Not surprised at all. Disgusted, but not surprised. That continent needs several more centuries of human evolution and maybe would catch up.

I'm glad to see everybody starting to wake up and see right through these propoganda, agenda driven articles.

Where's the article that 1 in 10 Americans are in prison, most for violent crimes like rape, child molestation and murder?

Pointing out 'obvious' facts about society only serves the purpose of a hidden agenda.

"most experts say that his is a result of its violent past and the legacy of apartheid" Good God. WHAT experts??? Now you are going to blame apartheid for RAPE?? Please tell me when do Black Africans assume responsibility for their OWN actions? "most experts" WHO? Name one. Are they part of the ANC? Horror stories come out South Africa EVERYDAY and CBS does not report them. Sure, poor blacks steal, but why do they have to kill fathers and rape wives and daughters? Usually right in front of the remaining family members. Imagine giving Political Rationalization for RAPE. What about the Congo where rape is epidemic? Is that the fault of white colonialists too?? Shame on the Associated Press and SHAME on CBS for not reporting the truth about South Africa - short version? Its going the way of Zimbabwe. Disgusting.

That's true. Raping women may just be part of the value system of South Africa...

thusspokezara "Another culturally insensitive article by CBS. When are we going to learn that we cannot impose our Judeo-Christian values on the rest of the world?"

So thinking rape is wrong is just "Judeo-Christian values" (sic)? And reporting on a report from South Africa's own South Africa's Medical Research Council is "culturally insensitive"? What kind of person thinks that?

Who are we to point the finger? Remember the Vikings? They used to travel up and down the coast of Northern Europe pillaging and raping and drinking wine. And what about the Mongols? Don't get me started.
