Jesus and his disciples were thought to be lunatics, too. I'm in good company!

I'm curious - Does your god talk to you, and you to him?

No I don't think it's time for a new track as far as Israel is concerned. We should never have a "new track" about Israel! I don't need to "analyze" things either! God gave that entire land to Abraham who gave the land to Isaac, his younger son and the father of the Jews. He didn't give it to his older son Ishmael, the father of the Palestinians and Arabs. He did bless Ishmael but the bulk of his blessings went to Isaac. The land belongs to Isaac's decendants, not Ishmael's!

What about our image with Israel? Israel has long been one of our closest allies. We have very few close allies as it is. I also don't think we should sacrifice an old friend to gain new ones whom we might not be able to trust anyway! Also Israel is the Holy Land. I think when we turn against or betray Israel we'll be turning against God Himself. I fear for the United States then!

How much oil has Israel got? The only holy land for America is the land with oil under it. Get your priorities right!

My priorities are straight! God is first in my life! Everything and everyone else is second and that's the way it should be! I am not talking about oil. When I said the Holy Land I was speaking in the Biblical sense. Israel is the home of the Jews. It is also the birthplace of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is also the homeland of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is also the land where my Savior Jesus gave his life on the cross for me and where he laid three days in the grave and then ascended back to God. Therefore, to me and to most Christians Israel is the Holy Land!

ladypirate2: what has our friendship with Israel bought us, aside from 3,000 dead on 9-11? Don't you think it's time to try a new tack? The longer we let Israel bully the Palestinians and deny them a homeland, the longer the Arab world sees us as their enemies. Israel won the 1967 war but never returned all the land they conquered, and ever since, they have used legal and illegal means to keep that land. Your president is trying to keep you safe by defusing this ridiculous situation. Maybe you should put down your Bible for a second and use your own eyes to analyze things.

While nobody is suggesting we 'turn against Israel', the very idea of thinking any country is closer to God, and that should effect our foreign policy,is exactly the WRONG path to take!
Posted by nolalou at 2:06 AM : Jun 4, 2009

I remind you that Psalms 33: 12 says "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" That means exactly what it says and it doesn't include any other "god" but the Lord! Israel's God is the Lord. It is also the birth country of our savior Jesus, the son of God. If our foreign policy doesn't include respecting Israel as the Holy Land and the land of the Jews, God's chosen people, then we should definitely change our foreign policy! God and the Holy Spirit should control everything about our foreign policy and our foreign policy should be based on the Bible and the Holy Scriptures. It should be the same with our laws and everything about our government!

We've tried being the ally of a republic with a multi-party political system. What has that ever gotten us? Time to beg, and I mean beg, the dictatorships of the world to allow us the privilege of serving them for their oil money. Goodbye, and may cowardice be yours.

America's image in the Muslim world should be the great slayer of these inhuman animals. There will be no peace in the middle east or anywhere else in the world so long as the Muslim religion is allowed to exist.

"...about the need for Muslims to embrace democracy, women's rights and economic opportunity."

Are you on crack?!? Those values fly in the face of everything Islam stands for! It's like saying Christians should embrace dictatorships, gay rights, and torture. Oh wait, they already embrace dictatorships and torutre...anyway, you get the idea, right? And while I'm not a huge fan of Isreal, Palastinians need to be wiped out, not given a state of their own.

THERE CAN BE NO PEACE AS LONG AS ISLAM LIVES!

bonjour
