The trouble is you are confusing "torture" with agressive interrogation techniques.....they are not the same.....of course nobody really supports torture, that's sick......but applying agressive techniques to someone like the 9-11 mastermind is not only necessary for our own safety, but not doing so, would be negligent.

Not to butt in here but. If I had to choose between sheer torture of a known terrorist and only possibly saving the life of an innocent child, anyones child, I would choose to torture every time. But Bush/Cheney found a way to interrogate these known terrorists without going all the way to torture and possibly saved innocent lives. I seriously wonder about the Christian ethics of anyone who would make a lesser commitment to the innocents. - Reply to this comment

- PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU ACCUSE OTHERS.
1. These pictures of rape and worse are abhorant to nearly all of us, left or right of the political.
2. These pictures of rape and worse have no relationship to the enhanced interrogation that was sanctioned by our governent and is approved by the majority WHEN IT SAVES INNOCENT LIVES.
3. If you believe that rape and torture was condoned by our government then you must believe that MyLai Vietnam was condoned by Lyndon Johnson.
What is destroying our country is the kind of general accusations you throw at conservatives like myself. The hate that is so often demonstrated towards those who disagree with you. And the failure of so called tolerant liberals to be either tolerant or liberal. In my experience on these boards, the conservatives show much more understanding of individual freedom and corporate responsibility than this post of yours.

I'm a liberal and not accusing ALL conservatives just the evil corrupt bush/cheney regime who sought and approved TORTURE. So stop throwing YOUR wild accusatons and claims at ALL liberals. Practice what you preach! And yes I do believe that war mongering ratsass johnson condone it in private.

If you read my post, I did not accuse ALL liberals of such behavior. But the post I was answering DID accuse ALL conservatives.
But since we both seem to have some knowledge of Johnson, I will add a bit more.
Johnson most likely did NOT know of MyLai until it was reported in late 1969 when he was already out of the office. But I am pretty sure that smaller incidents WERE reported to him, usually blamed on the corrupt So Vietnam regime. I think the same happened to Bush in Iraq. These pictures depict terrible behavior on the part of a few soldiers, they are not representative of our military or its leadership. That is the bothers me most in these discussions. The knee jerk reaction to blame everyone stops true analysis so we can better train future soldiers.. It seems to me that many Bush haters would rather attack Bush than find out why these things really happen and prevetn tham in the future. Im not a Bush apologist, he made many mistakes. But the idea that he personally endorsed behavior like this trivializes everyone. - Reply to this comment

BALONEY! This is torture, man! Government sanctioned rape and torture! I never always agreed with my government, but I was ALWAYS proud to be an American.
This crap turns my stomach. This is NOT what it means to be an American. This is NOT what our boys have fought and died to protect for 200 years. It is a disgrace to our nation.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzoles,...the whole cabal of them are nothing more than war criminals. I want them brought to trial and held accountable for their crimes!

Yep....I just cannot understand why the republiCON minority party continues to put party before country, and still worships the WAR crimes of the busheviks, in such an illegal and immoral way! - Reply to this comment
- Exactly! What I don't understand is why these "GOP clowns" have such a need to misplace their anger in such a highly-partisan way, and give the bush monkey and the rest of the busheviks a free pass for all the mistakes and illegal torture along the way. What bozos!

Are you a religious person?

Yes, why do you ask ?
Regardless of my religious beliefs, I see no problems splashing a wet towelette in the face of the 9-11 mastermind.....it's the least we can do to freshen him up

Joe,
The conservative radio guy Mancow was waterboarded and he say that waterboarding is absolutely torture.
