Security Council Says Test Violated Existing Resolutions; Test Prompts Worldwide Condemnation
- Getting late. Was watching Hamburger Hill, but being a Nam vet, walked away to the blog. Anyway, something will be done about this nuclear test by the international community. Can't have the freak sell more technologoy to Iran or Israel will go it alone against the Iranians. Japan may become offensive again if nothing is done. We are economically and stragically tied to the Southeastern Asian nations within NK's missile range.

- As Dennis Miller once said: "When Kim Jong Il dies, I hope they put his head in a jar of alcohol. I'd pay a quarter to see that freakish thing up close."

- But then we make innocent people, children suffer even more than they already do. Is that what the USA is all about?
Suffer? I love fortune cookies. It'd only be until they put the little puppet on a pointy stick at the gate. - Reply to this comment
- Stuart; has to do with your comment about finding money for the troops. Sacrifice comes when more of the money you earned is used for the military and most resources are devoted to them.

- I hear that Kim Jong Il is seriously angered by insults. That being said, Kim is short, ugly, stupid, and wears sunglasses made for old Jewish women in Florida. His country is so badly run, the people can't feed themselves, and rely on US food aid. He has commissioned multi-lane highways in his cities, and no one has cars. His missiles are all named after the junior high word for a peniz. His hatred and fear of the Japan, the nerdiest nation on the planet, shows he's beyond pathetic. The UN should send him a digital recording of the laughter of the entire civilized world at the appearance of his freakish, stroke-numbed, carp-like head.

- Wars and casulaties, can't have one without the other. Sadly. little kids also die. The US is not looking for a fight, but is being drawn into one. Why? Because we are the last military super-power. If war were to come, one can forsee the re-introduction of the draft. The money for a third war will be found if national survival is at stake.

- This generation of American's has not learned yet what real sacrifice means. Too many people are way too soft and let us agree, have had it too cushy for a very long time. Many have never had a really hard day in their life by doing without.

- The US feeds the 23.5 million peole of North Korea. We need to start sending them nothing but fortune cookies with the same fortune in every one: Kill the 4' tall man wearing women's sunglasses, and we'll start sending you entrees again.

- If the NK's were to sell the technology to Iran, you can bet on WWIII.

- We have 35,000 troops in the South along with ROK forces. In Vietnam, the ROK were tough dependable allies. Trouble with this whole scenario is North Korea is cash strapped and will sell technology to oil-rich Iran. China, who is a supporter of NK, will demand more trade concessions from the West in order to support the coming stern sanctions. Probably need an embargo of NK. China and Russia need to be fully on board with sanctions, otherwise, maybe a military coalition needs to go in and clean house. Regrettably, the North Korean army will be a tough adversary and air power alone will not win a conflict against them.

- Well we know that Saddam will not get the Nuke Bomb, but could we say that if Bush didn't stop him. We can't say that about N Korea, they have a WMD, Iran will soon, if not now have a WMD, but Saddam in Iraq won't have one!

- Trying to talk North Korea into stopping their military build up will never work. The only thing they understand is a bullet in the head. I think the situation can be handled one or two different ways, I refer to them as Plan "A" and Plan B".
Plan "A" Bomb them till there are no two bricks left stuck together and do it now. Waiting will only give them time to gain strength and make the job harder.
Plan "B" I hear Pyonsyang likes to drink a lot of scotch, even has it flown in on a regular basis. Cut off his scotch shipments, he might sober up and ask himself, "what the hell was I thinking", and start behaving like a good little commie. - Reply to this comment

- While the "noble" libertarians are counting our pennies, the North Koreans are perfecting their ballistic missile accuracy and warhead lethality for a trip to the U.S.

While the North Koreans use at least part of the 25 million released by Bush in 2006 to fund their nuclear weapons program -- And many of you complain about the UN when the Bush administration unfroze North Korean funding AFTER THEIR FIRST NUCLEAR TEST. - Reply to this comment

- All the sanctions against the North K's won't work unless China and Russia fully cooperate. What will hurt the NK's best are food and fuel sanctions. Without those supplies, their starving population might be motiviated to do something against their oppressive dictator and his military regime.
