9-Year Probe Reveals Decades Of Beatings, Rapes Ignored By Government, At Church-Run Institutions
- that's the problem.
people think if you're a member of a religion (doesn't matter which---honestly doesn't) you are free from committing sins.
the Bibles doesn't say put on armor for nothing. problem is people come to repentence and believe that's all there is.

If believing in eternal life in the hereafter makes you feel better then that's OK, but admit that religion is a 'business' that is founded upon man's insecurities about human existence. - Reply to this comment
- ahh
but you're forgetting original sin
when it says "suffer the little children to come unto me"
the catholic church takes it literally and make the children suffer. it a brainwashing technique. (punishment and reward)
the thing thse who practice such thing completely misunderstood what was being said. He didn't say make the children suffer, but his ministers to do the suffering for it to happen. - Reply to this comment
- I would bet that 90% of this is just numbers being blown all out of proportion, in order to make the Church look bad. Posted by DaVicar5
eople like you still don't believe that little boys were sexually abused by Catholic priests in the US. So why should one such as yourself believe the thousands of testimonies that went into this report? - Reply to this comment

- They need some sort of faith in eternal existence, even though there is no evidence of eternal existence. Religion in all its forms preys on this need.

- Misplaced guilt is the glue that holds religion together.

VoidMaster'
The reason we have religion is that most people on earth can not accept the fact that when they die, their life is over! Most people are scared senseless about this and religion is their coping mechanism. They need some sort of faith in eternal existence, even though there is no evidence of eternal existence. Religion in all its forms preys on this need. - Reply to this comment

yes it is their own fault.
for trusting the adults who should have been looking out for them.
for trusting a religion which condones child abuse, drunkenness, drug abuse, fornication, and how many other sins?
if the catholic church doesn't have the guts to clean their house they deserved to be whipped with a thong of ropes just like jesus did when he told them they had made His Father's house a den of thieves.
btw
if you wonder why he said that?
it was because the priests were given offering of doves and other animals for sacrifice and they'd not offer them up on the altar at all, but sold them back to the vendors who camped there. - Reply to this comment
- If you could somehow cause misplaced guilt to go away for just a week, I believe most if not all forms of religion would vanish from the planet -- starting with Catholicism.
