It is disfunctionally insane for any person to pass judgement on this case here in this blog.

I only remind you that the purpose of armed forces is to kill, whether in attack or defence their writ is to kill.

So dont kid yourself that it is some holiday camp to get some free education or social correction from the government which should be free anyway if the gov was intelligent.

Granted, it is an overworked cliche, but those of us who haven't "been there and done that" should ****.

Often times abuse at home causes young men to "snap". We need to know more.

Simple stress does not make a soldier kill his fellow soldiers. Something was clearly wrong and he fell through the cracks. But I didn't understand how he could go to a clinic set up for cases like his and he was told to leave because he became argumetative. Hello, he was there to get mental help...what is wrong with this picture. He sounds like he was having mental problems and I feel for him, his family, the victims and their friends and families. They are all victims of this stupid military.

Why are we in Iraq again nothing to show for it thanks bush and you insane wacko reactionaries.

Never again will you see power this is the worst that can happen. They had years to do something constructive instead they have nothing to show for it nothing. Wait I take that back they have 2 bridges.

1) A bridge to nowhere.
2) A bridge that fell due to lack of care.

Typical reactionaries useless.

Well done Tanker 144!!! (from a solider of 32 years...Tanker/Cav). It's possible this man may have had some long term and "ongoing" issues based on his rank and time in service.

I believe the dad is right and his son should be treated as a causualty of war also. George Bush misused the soilder by letting them into combat dangerous zones over and over to prove he could keep an Army on beans instead of going after Alqueida in Afganistan he and Dick Cheney were after oil and money. These two deserve the treatment your son is getting they deserve to be in Jail. As this administration continues to uncover the dasterdly deeds of Cheney-Bush empire, showing Americans that loss of our economy and the loss of soilders lives along with the loss of Iraqi cilivization and life will be avenged by karma itself. What goes around comes around that is the real deal.

"Who ever heard of a war lasting over 8 years? "

----------------

The one where the Russians invaded Afghanistan lasted about that long. Racked by internal dissent and by the unsustainable cost of such a long war, the Russians eventually withdrew. Some credit the Afghan War with the downfall of the Soviet Union. Too bad Bush never read a history book.

So many cold hearted posters here! Yes, our soldiers volunteer - to serve their country, not to be destroyed by their service. As the mother of a soldier, I can only see sadness in every aspect of this incident. We all hope our kids can come home from war in one piece, physically AND mentally! Unfortunately, not all do. But let's not talk down on ANYONE who has the guts to step up to the plate and serve!

Hey Nancylou, I spent 20 years of my life defending people like you, so I'm not going to dignify your attempt to belittle what I said with an in your face reply just because I don't know you anymore than you know me, but, know this... Yes, I did miss my own dad's funeral because I was off defending freedom and the mission dictated that I stay put. Yes, I have spent months in conditions that would make the so called normal person cringe. Finally, during my 20 years it was my honor to command some of the finest soldiers to ever wear the uniform, and until you've have your soldiers killed in combat you'll never, ever, ever know what I've been through. So again, I have absolutely no sympathy for this guy whatsoever because he killed his own, my own. And nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing can justify him shooting his own. Period!
