- What a joke! The Castros always have the upper hand in dealing with U.S. presidents and still do. Imagine, the commies rejecting the overtures of our socialist president. Now, can Obama take back the open door policy to Cuba he promised? Watch out! Here come the denials saying
Obama never intended to have relations with Cuba. What a weak, naive leader we have! - Reply to this comment
- OMG, Castro rebuffed the Big O. How dare he do that to the Big O.

- You poor knuckle draggers just don't get it do you?? The hand was extended NOT for Castro or Cuba you poor uneducated boob! It was extended for those nations who DO want to be our friends but who had come to believe some of the PR Castro and others had put out in their countries. They have come to doubt this nation because of the arrogance and Ignorance of the Bush Administration. It's no wonder the Right has been such a complete failure at governing and in relations with others. They have no vision, no ability to think outside the narrow box they have built for themselves and others. This effort will pay dividends for the President and this nation as he strives to make this nation a bigger influence in South America.

- I wonder if our clueless liberal class in America is paying attention and FINALLY learning something..............
Cuba is run by a Dicator and has been for over fifty years. People on Cuba have been born and die on that island without the right to ever leave it.
How many liberals would like to live in Cuba ? Have their kids be born there knowing that they will live their entire lifes on that poor socialist island..............never being able to travel off the island........ - Reply to this comment

You know you really need to get an education. ALL you ever post is talking points, some of them so old and tired that it is truly embarrassing. Try your local high school! They have night courses in basic history and understanding the English Language. I have often wanted to respond to your points but when I start I find that there really isn't any. - Reply to this comment
- Well what the hell did they expect? Can't really blame Bush for this... it's the same song and dance that Cuba has been doing since 1959.
Oh well, at least we tried one more time, for what it's worth...

NO this time it is MUCH different. This time it is the Castro Government with egg on it's face! This time it is the Government of CUBA that has the look of being the bad guy with their neighbors. LOL - Reply to this comment
- Hummm It would seem that Finally we have a Leader who can out maneuver this dictator and beat him at his own game. They put a position out to show the Latin American People how UNREASONABLE the United States is and now it's backfired right in their face! This President is very cool and very Intelligent. It will not take long before all realize that.

See reality for a moment. If Fidel was secure he would not make public statements blasting Obama, he would just call Raul in and tell him to repudiate his statements, and Raul would do so. The fact that Fidel said anything pulically at all means he knows that his days are numbered. The man is 82. By the time Obama is out of office he will be 90 if he is still alive, and I very much doubt that he will be.
Raul isn't any spring chicken but he has had to wait patiently for his brother Fidel to kick the bucket for a half century now, and I'm sure he wants a shot at the money, women, and spoils of dictatorship too. I'm sure there's a growing number of people in the leadership circle in Cuba who are just adopting the "smile and nod" mentality when Fidel goes off his wheelchair and starts shaking his cane. - Reply to this comment

- We need to resolve the Gitmo detainee problem before we start demanding that Cuba release its political prisoners.
