How many people were sitting around last night (before HRC got there) worrying about human rights in China? I would guess not many. It takes stronger measures to control a population of billions and what right is given to another country to tell China what to do. You could have sat around last night and also considered just how ineffective words from other countries have been. China shakes its head yes and that is as far as it ever goes. HRC was smart she avoided the same old lines China hears so many times and worked on the topics of the day. The world economy is tanking and she asked for Chinas help. At the end of the meeting Chinas president was happy with the talks and that can only be a good thing. Lets look at third world countries where just the fact of being seen gets you shot or your head cut off. Now there are human rights in action besides financial gain they also know there are too many people for the land or the government to support and tribes don%u2019t like other tribes so there are those internal wars also. The US for once was not sticking its nose in other peoples business. One could also ask why HRC did not visit North Korea or Iran just as a way to get to know the goverments.

The all too easily demonstrated smell of hypocrisy.

""...My ancestors moved ever westward to get rid of those who wanted to scam the new(legal)immagrants, who wanted to make a new life..and raise strong, healthy children..." Posted by MommaKat64

Don't forget, they also committed, aided, or otherwise benefitted from genocide against those who originally inhabited those western lands. There were people there before the European immigrants "moved' there, you know.

OMG, this is soooo much worse than America has ever dared to sink...that's alright China, you OWN the US of A, we will look past your monstrous "mis-adventures", your horrendous human rights abuses-Tibet comes to mind. Looking back on even last year's massive mistakes, I can very well see that CHINA is an abomination to the FREE world. But the PC, every child needs a village, "we must adjust to any culture that crosses our path...even if they do not hold life, of any kind, dear. This country has been destroyed--much like a mustang used to be layered with ropes to tie him/her down, until submission. My ancestors moved ever westward to get rid of those who wanted to scam the new(legal)immagrants, who wanted to make a new life..and raise strong, healthy children..

What an eternally sad scenario do we lay at our elderly loved ones, when our land-hungry ancestors were uncontrollable.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THE UNITED STATES HAS BEEN FORCED TO "PROSTITUTE ITSELF" -- RELATIVE TO THE FUNDAMENTAL CORE VALUES THAT HAD MADE THE UNITED STATES SUCH A STRONG LEADER (INCLUDING MORALLY), IN THE PAST. -- IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY -- BOTH HERE AND FOR, E.G., THE STREET PROSTITUTE! -- THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION GOT THE UNITED STATES INTO A 'WAR' BASED ON LIES. -- THIS UNNECESSARY AND PREEMPTIVE WAR IS ESTIMATED TO COST ABOUT $144,000,000,000 A YEAR -- THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION ARRANGED TO FINANCE THIS UNNECESSARY 'WAR' (A 'WAR' THAT, BY THE WAY, IS STILL BLEEDING THE U,S. ECONOMY) WITH CHINESE MONEY.-- IT WOULD BE REALLY INTERESTING TO SEE HOW MUCH MONEY THE UNITED STATES HAD OWED (OR NOT OWED) CHINA
B*E*F*O*R*E BUSH CAME INTO OFFICE and, THEN, HOW MUCH MONEY THE UNITED STATES NOW OWES CHINA! -- AND, OF COURSE, THERE IS ALSO THE 'INTEREST' ON THE BORROWED MONEY!

"U.S. Giving China A Pass On Human Rights?"

What an insanely arrogant question.

America, the country that gave the world Iraqi genocide, Abu Ghraib, Vietnam genocide, BART police shootings, the Amadou Diallo case, and others too numerous for an entire website, and not to neglect state-sanctioned torture for the purpose of covering lies, has no standing to question anyone else about human rights.

Clinton is actually wise not to embarrass herself and the rest of the country by serving up a hanging curveball for other countries to hit out of the park.

All the people who think that China can govern over 1 billion people with American style democracy is an ignorant fool. If China had the kind of laws and courts that allow drug dealers and molesters to walk free after a few years in prison then they would have anarchy with a billion people. The people responsible for the tainted milk and the poison pet food probems didn't go to Federal prison in China, they just got SHOT!!! Also, China has helped us finance our government spending. They are the bank and we are the debtor. They hold US treasury notes and the last thing we want is to upset them and have them demand their cash back plus interest.
