Wow, I could have sworn that both my grandfathers were in world war 2, my dad and one of my uncles were in Vietnam. And unless I''''m just losing it, I would have bet my pitiful E-5 check that I went to Iarq twice, then got out of the military and am here as a civilian now training our military on Tactical comms

With a background like yours, why are you opposed to saving American military personell by using drones. With your background, it seems logical that anything that can get the job fone without risking our people would be a positive. Am I missing something.

To DSR57 and james12341: Many of us liberals are still protesting, still writing letters, still trying to get this insane way of slaughtering innocents stopped. These drones may be killing off the occasional terrorist, but largely they''''ve been hitting civilians. The Pakistanis don''''t want us to do this. We are ruining their chances of defeating the Taliban. So yes, if liberals are no longer protesting this, then they are, like you reactionaries, brain-damaged.

Now you have a liberal ptesident and a democratic congress with many liberals in it. They should be supporting your cause. Only now they control the intelligence information and are responsible for making the decisions. Good luck with your cause.

So let me get this straight. You just called me a name because I made an observation? I didn''t think I picked a side, just happened to notice the difference when two different presidents do the same thing and one is called a murderer and nothing is said about the other.

Drones are terrific. They can zero in on a target, destroy the target, and none of our mikitary people are at risk. It is one thing for the enemy to shoot down an unmanned drone and another thing to shoot down a plane that has our military people in it. One can''''''''t help but wonder if tanks are being designed that don''''''''t require people in them. The more drones we build and use the better.

WOW, I remember when Bush was president and news like this would come out. Everyone was on the message board screaming about " How come bush thinks he can just go into another country and kill innocents" Now that Obama is president I can''''t help but notice no one is saying that anymore. What gives?

Interpretation: Liberals cab get away with it. This is no surprise since most governments in Europe are liberal. They cover for each other.

Overheard by US surveillance right beforehand:

" Director Mohammed: And that concludes our meeting this evening of the The Royal Order of Death-To-America Elk-Moose. Gentlemen, our faithful local regional director, Ali Baba Mahmood Achhhmet, will now serve the traditional Jihad Green Tea. Glasses all around......OK everyone, raise your cups, and I''d now like to say that....."

"Ali Wahzoo: What''s that sound????? That hi-pitched whistle? Uh....ohhhh.............AIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
BOOM

"A suspected U.S. missile strike by a drone aircraft flattened a militant hide-out in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday, killing 27 local and foreign insurgents, intelligence officials said."

In two days, it will come out that the "friendly, local population" led our troops to this air strike, and it will turn out to be another wedding party.

I''m wondering what "led" the drone? Do we have to have someone on the ground with lazer guidance? If so, I commend them for their bravery and smarts for handing out Viagra to the tribal leaders.

am sure they were really peace loving individuals that were killed. In fact I would bet that some locals will end you murdering a few locan woman, elderly and children and placing them at this location before the call the NYT or some other anti-American rag to come document the slaughter of innocent Pakistani''''s by our predator country.

Once upon a time the US struck safe havens in another Asian nation. The end result was the toppling of the government and the installation of a barbaric regime which destroyed the nation and practiced mass murder for years. Granted, the area of Pakistan under attack is a lawless wilderness where rape, murder and intimidation are the policies of those in charge. I do not want see another Cambodia.
