- We should NEVER have went to Iraq, and should have put ALL of our "war efforts" into Afghanistan.

If I''m not mistaken BUSH IS NOT THE PRESIDENT ANYMORE. OBAMA IS.
Why am I looking at a news item about OBAMA GETTING BLOOD ON HIS HANDS AGAIN in Pakistan, and all I see in the discussions is the usual flamefest about Bush in Iraq.
STOP DWELLING ON THE PAST. BUSH IS HISTORY.
Obama is getting us deeper and deeper into a new conflict in Pakistan, AND NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT IT. - Reply to this comment
- Be kind to the drone, lest it pay you a visit.

- What I''m unsure of is whether he will have the class to retract all the venom he spewed. I doubt he will.

- As an aside, I think its hilarious that our former antiwar candidate seems to be taking to his new roles as HNICUSAF like a fish to water. I guess he did "CHANGE"!!!
Posted by azirine at 02:47 PM : Feb 14, 2009
With all due respect, is it possible that the aforesaid antiwar candidate became privy to knowledge that we don''t have and that is what triggered the change of mind? Scarey, isn''t it? - Reply to this comment

ToolMangler is right on. You''''re implied suggestion is that we should use troops, risking their lives, when technologically advantageous methods are more efficient, save our soldier''''s lives, and wreak havoc on the third world mentality. He is not "TOTALLY STUPID"stupid as you accuse. Are you an American?

There has to be the threat of losing human lives. If you turn war into a video game and make it so easy to kill people without remorse because you never have to look them in the eye, then you become Desensitized to death. And with out having to fear death then you would only breed more war. SO, yes, I believe that troops will always have to be on the ground, without the loss of family members and loved ones what keeps us from solving ALL of our problems with war? Politicians have to know there will be a back lash so as to keep them in somewhat check from fear of the population as a whole. If you had a mechanized army, then who would care what country we invaded because Americans wouldn''t die, People wouldn''t care because little timmy wasn''t going to another country to possibly die. If anything was going to die it would be a UAV and who gives a *** about that? - Reply to this comment

- Hey I agree with "breadline" : A little B52 action here, after we tell them, you have 48 hours to give up the bad guys or else.
they only got 27? I think its time to bring in the b-52''''s and do a little carpet bombing and put a quick end to this $hit and stop letting our boys get killed. napalm works well to and its cheap compared to guided electronics. - Reply to this comment
- Good work ! Kudos President O. and our troops.

- how could the other country or people respect us and not look at us with anything but contempt since we won by basically playing a video game?

What you seem to be saying is that we should start hirng suicide bombers and send them over there to do our fighting for us in person. Wanna volunteer?

- KimNorth - Something doesn''''t add up with this guy. You would think that he would rather send in drones than American soldiers.

I think you two may have missed my point, I am not against using drones and other unmanned vehicles. I''m saying that America should never fight an entire war with them. Having fought for your country and knowing that you prtected something so great is a wonderful feeling. How much of that can a guy that stares at a screen and pushes the fire button have? And how can any other country respect our if we sent nothing but UAV''s in to do what troops should. Even if we did indeed win such an Altercation how could the other country or people respect us and not look at us with anything but contempt since we won by basically playing a video game? - Reply to this comment

Not that I feel as if I have to prove myself to you, BUT anyone who ever says they were in the military or say they have been to a war zone and fought for their country have haven''t. Should be F U Cking shot for treason and put on public display - Reply to this comment
- With a background like yours, why are you opposed to saving American military personell by using drones. With your background, it seems logical that anything that can get the job fone without risking our people would be a positive. Am I missing something.

Because I think people would lose their respect for a sense of country if we had nothing but machines do our dirty work. Troops will always have to be on the ground to assure people and provide protection. I don%u2019t like seeing personnel die just as much as the next person but I think it would be extremely arrogant if every war America got into we sent nothing but a mechanized army. And I also think there would be a huge backlash from other countries that could not compete. Just like Israel is getting now. Other countries would jump down our throats for civilian deaths and use of overwhelming a force. People of the countries would hate us for sitting at home while others die. - Reply to this comment
- rhs648, thats because he is full of it or got hit in the head while in action (if that''s the case we can forgive him)
