If more people would try to cash in on the Somali lottery they would not have to resort to piracy. My mistake, it''s the Nigerian lottery.

Superfly48, you say "too bad that the Somalis have to resort to piracy to live".
Oh really? They "have to" resort to this?
I don''t think so.
Hundreds of millions of poor people worldwide live and survive without resorting to violent crime. When you use statements such as yours, you are unintentionally rationalizing these criminal acts.
Think about it.

I haven''t stopped laughing since I saw this story.

I love these "When bad things happen to bad people" stories.

The fish are eating some nice "skinnies" tonight.

Score 1 for the good guys.

Well, if you are a naval pirate, you should learn to swim. The Saudi''s paid $3 million to get their super tanker back and what do the pirates do? The capsize their boat and drown with the money.

Is someone going to try to retrieve the ransom money? It''s too bad that the Somalis have to resort to piracy to live, but did they need 3 million dollars. Perhaps they should try to come to America with the other illegal immigrants.

only nation states that have had their ships pirated should be responsible for stopping the pirates by any means necessary. it could include bombing all of somalia, its coastline and every boat, ship, canoe seen from the air.

Ha ha! The scumbags got what they deserved.
What I want to know is why aren''t these escape vessels attacked after assuring that the crew is safe? One would think that if they can get close enough to drop a ransom, that they can also get close enough to attack when the pirated ship is abandoned.
