The Israeli government cant handle the truth. Their propaganda ministers like to stifle dissent. Thats why they barred Finkelstein, a Jew. So much for the Israel as a democracy myth.

Now you are blatantly lying.

Part of the oath of a new citizen is to criticize the government. Israel is a hot bed of government criticizm.

You are a blatant liar.

So mtee12 is quoting from a self-marginalized, biased, pro-hamas, anti-Israeli loony left libtard news source.

It''s legal, like the 2 headed Elvis baby in the National Enquirer.

Best of luck to mtee12 and their "alternative news sources".

Amy Goodman
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Amy Goodman (born April 13, 1957) is an American broadcast journalist, syndicated columnist and author.

A 1984 graduate of Harvard University, Goodman is best known as the principal host of Pacifica Radio''s Democracy Now! program, where she has been described by the Los Angeles Times as

"radio''s voice of the disenfranchised left".[1]

Coverage of the peace and human rights movements %u2014 and support of the independent media %u2014 are the hallmarks of her work.

"Independent media" wonder what that is. (dig..dig..)

AHAH!

Alternative media
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alternative media are media (newspapers, radio, television, movies, Internet, etc.) which are alternatives to the business or government-owned mass media. Proponents of alternative media argue that the mainstream media are biased. While sources of alternative media are also frequently biased (sometimes proudly so), the bias tends to be significantly different than that of the mainstream media, hence "alternative". As such, advocacy journalism tends to be a component of many alternative outlets.

Because the term "alternative" has connotations of self-marginalization, some media outlets now prefer the term "independent" over "alternative".

"In 1973, a father complained to the FCC that his son had heard the George Carlin routine "Filthy Words" broadcast one afternoon over WBAI, a Pacifica Foundation FM radio station in New York City. Pacifica received a sanction from the FCC, in the form of a letter of reprimand, for allegedly violating FCC regulations which prohibited broadcasting "indecent" material.

Holding

The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the FCC action in 1978..."

Yup. So we got the college mentality:

vulgarity

Disrespect to a President.

Wonder what else a cursory check out brings up?

When President Bill Clinton called WBAI on Election Day, 2000, for a quick get-out-the-vote message, Goodman and Gonzalo Aburto challenged him for 28 minutes with questions about Leonard Peltier, racial profiling, the Iraq sanctions, Ralph Nader, the death penalty, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Clinton defended Democratic policies against criticism, but charged Goodman with being "hostile, combative, and even disrespectful".[4]

Uh oh. Sounds like a college newsgirl who likes to use the "F" word in the local college newspaper. I''ll dig a little deaper.

Arrest at 2008 Republican Convention

During the 2008 Republican National Convention, several of Goodman''s colleagues from Democracy Now! were arrested and detained by police while reporting on an anti-war protest outside the RNC.[7][8] While trying to ascertain the status of her colleagues, Goodman herself was arrested and held, accused of "obstruct[ing] a legal process" and "interfer[ing] with a peace officer",[9] while fellow Democracy Now! producers were held on charges of probable cause for riot.[10] The arrests of the producers have been criticized as unlawful and a violation of the freedom of the press.[11] Goodman and her colleagues were later released, but as of September 2008 they still face charges stemming from their arrests,[12] although City Attorney John Choi has indicated that the charges will be dropped.[13]

On May 23, 2008, Finkelstein was denied entry to Israel because, according to unnamed Israeli security officials, of suspicions that "he had contact with elements ''hostile'' to Israel". Finkelstein was questioned after his arrival at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv and placed on a flight back to Amsterdam, his point of origin. Officials said that the decision to deport Finkelstein was connected to his "anti-Zionist" opinions and criticism of the Israeli government.[5] He was banned from entering Israel for 10 years.[6]

Tenure denial and resignation

In early 2007 the DePaul University Political Science department voted nine to three, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Personnel Committee five to zero, in favor of giving Finkelstein tenure. The three opposing faculty members subsequently filed a minority report opposing tenure, supported by the Dean of the College, Chuck Suchar. Suchar stated he opposed tenure because Finkelstein''s "personal and reputation demeaning attacks on Alan Dershowitz, Benny Morris, and the holocaust authors Eli Wiesel and Jerzy Kosinski" were inconsistent with DePaul''s "Vincentian" values.[42] In June 2007, a 4-3 vote by DePaul University''s Board on Promotion and Tenure (a faculty board), affirmed by the university''s president, the Rev. Dennis Holtschneider, denied Finkelstein tenure.[43][44]

now have Hamas favoring that two state settlement on the June 1967 border. The one and only obstacle is Israel, backed by the United States. That''''s the problem."

Norman Finkelstein is considered a biased and pro-terrorist fella who was denied tenure due to his questionable publications and public views.

Upon visiting Israel he was treated as an enemy of the state.

It is very unusual for Israel to acost a supposed academic.

No wonder you side with the terrorist govt. of Israel that not only kills Palestinians, but Americans as well.

Posted by mtee12

The government of Israel is not a terrorist state, Hamas is a officially declared terrorist organization that took power in a brutal and murderous way.

Hamas has been shooting terror rockets for years.

Sorry, bro. My allegiance is to the first 50, not some quasi state that holds sway in our electoral process. If they want statehood, let them sue for it.

As Israel continues to butcher women and children, when do we, as Israel''''s chief sponsor, say enough is enough? Bush will go down in history and add to his ill repute not only as having destroyed our economy and spit on our Constitution, but also as having sponsored a rogue nation in its carrying out of CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY!

Tell that dead and wounded of the USS Liberty who were shot at and torpedoed by Israelis.
Posted by mtee12

The Israelis said they made a mistake. They paid millions in compensation to the families and paid for the repairs to the ship.

The issue is officially closed.

No wonder you side with the terrorists. You are like them, a hater who carries a grudge with you to your grave.

Every Israeli should be ashamed of this Genocide, they forget that they experienced the holocaust in Europe. When Hamas won the democratically contested election (remember Jimmy carter in his cap as election observer), Israel, US, EU and much of the world didnot accept it, instead of engaging them israel along with Condi Rice engineered a conflict between Hamas and Fatah for unnecessary bloodshed. Israel and US supplied Arms to Fatah to kill their own people. Then when that failed, It started blockade of GAZA and stopped the power, Petrol, Medical supplies and much need food supplies. IT continued to suppress the innocent civilians of GAZA for electing HAMAS which was their only hope for basic necessities. Hamas is also responsible for bringing misery and hardship to their people. They started firing rockets, this made the innocent civilians in Israel to be insecure some civilians lost their lives which is unfortunate, any country has right to protect itself. But continuous bombardment of GAZA with ton bombs and tanks, which leads to 600 deaths mostly children and young kids will only create more enemies and hate for Israelis.

Hamas should act responsibly, they are a now a political and social movement and should move away from terrorist activities. Both Israel and Palestinians (Fatah and Hamas) should act in a decent way to solve this conflict. Israel needs to act with Big Heart and resolve this in the interest of Peace, prosperity and Bright Future for itself and Palestinians.

The Israeli Supreme Courts has outlawed the use of human shields

The Palestinian government has bragged about using human shields.

Looks like you brought up an example that makes Israel look good.
