Eager To Forget Misery Of 2008, Revelers Usher In New Year With Mixture Of Hope And Anxiety
- "Learn from what you''ve done and move forward."
Very sound advice and something America has consistently done for a long time. We must say NEVER again to a Fascist Leader, especially one who will outright LIE to us in order to be the "War President". - Reply to this comment
- Oh goody, I get to see a picture of two lesbians kissing in a picture to start the new year.

- I see CBS has started off the New Year with their usual "woe is me" misery theme, with the headline of this article, which states "eager to forget the misery of 2008"
-Typical. This pathetic "woe is me" philosophy that is being brainwashed into the American public is one of the worst things about our liberally biased main-stream media. The sad thing is, it is working on millions, when the REALITY of it all is that if you are a American citizen you have it better off than 85-90% of the rest of the world''s population economically, and we live in the most BLESSED NATION ON THE PLANET.
This pessimistic "woe is me" propaganda being pushed by the lib-media is destroying our country.
It IS NOT A BAD THING TO BE AN AMERICAN PEOPLE. WAKE UP.
DO NOT LET THE MEDIA CORRUPT YOUR SOULS AND MINDS.
If the economy was SOOOOO terrible as the main-stream media would like you to believe that your lives are in shambles, then please explain how nearly a MILLION PEOPLE STILL jam-packed time square tonight to go out and get drunk and act stupid while others around the globe in poverished nations aren''t enjoying an OUNCE of the blessings we have here in America???!?
Wake up people. IT IS A BLESSING AND A PRIVILEGE TO LIVE IN THE USA, the MOST PROSPEROUS NATION AND MOST GIFTED NATION GOD HAS EVER GRANTED TO HUMANITY
Your lives really AREN''T THAT BAD.

- Salam: They feel animosity because they are being starved. Token gestures like opening the border for a day or two is not enough. It has to be open 100% of the time all day every day until the end of time. You stick to antiquated arguements of people wanting to destroy Israel. What could it mean to destroy Israel, if that was a goal of the people you claim to have such goals? It doesn''t mean to kill every Jew and commit Genocide. It means to change the Government. Israel is a Jewish Democracy, not a pure Democracy. It puts preference and precedence on Judaism. It is Jewish first and if that is not violated, then it is a Democracy. This is not what America and Israel want for Palestine with regard to Islam. They want it pure Democracy with Islam being thrown away and rejected. This is part of the unfairness and inequity that exists with regard to the policy of America and Israel. If Israel is allowed to be Jewish Democracy with Judaism being first and foremost, then Palesitne Must be Islamic Democracy with Islam being first and foremost. Ma Salama

- HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! It''s now time for us all to start behaving like we have brains. Calling each other Dems, repubs, Libs, Neocons, Jews, Zionist, Muslim, Idiots, buttwipes, etc. remember... We all have to share this planet we live on. Keep fighting and sticking out your chest at one another will not reap high ground or safety. It will lead to our own distruction. We form a cimbiant circle in which, like it or not, we all depend on each other in one way or another. If we can respect that frame of mind we don''t need to become all nations, one government. We should learn to live together and everyone would have a happy, useful, satisfying life respecting their neighbors. Naw, never mind, that''ll never happen. Go at it people.. Tear it all apart, Kill Mame, blow up offspring so as not to have a future of confidence and love. Have a great New Year.. God Speed USA

- I don''t see 2009 being all that great myself. We will be spending at least the first half in free fall and the second half trying to fight our way out from the first half.

- The thing is everyone will really like 2008 once we go through the collapse of 2009. We elected a pResident with a brain but we have not done anything to roll back the fascism or the corporate criminals who start wars, run elections and control the government and military.
