but seriously, for such a world traveler you are missing a rather remarkable area. Religion aside, a a land that connects africa, asia and europe. No shortage of history by any means and you''ll meet people from all over the world curious about the history of human life.

Just be wise about which parts you visit. It''s also a rather remarkable sight being in the northern lands and seeing the obvious division between occupants, physically. Who would think that one side could grow green grass and trees and not 10 feet away is barren, desert.

You know what I really don''t care about that area of the world. I have been to almost every place on Earth that is not one of them. Plus I have no interest in ever going so I don''t care what they do.

about 85 % of every picture on CBS/NBC/ABC/BBC always has to show a hassidic Jew when it has a story about Israel even though 83% of the country is non-religous oe agnostic.

The picture indicates a civilian in close confrontation with the plastic shield of either a soldier or policeman. A person either pushing against or being pushed by a shielded official is obviously in a "scuffle". Israel, as any civilized society, is ruled by law. If one cannot abide the law, they should move to where the laws are more suitable. Amazing how many people move into a place and then try to change the place rather than adapt themselves.

An honest answer request: If Israel was to give back the land gained after the war in 67, do you think the fighting would stop?

And for those whose argument would be "No, because they have to give back all the land ever taken, etc. etc." your point is discredited because that land has been a grabbing ground for thousands of years, originally belonging to the Jews anyway and you''d also have to advocate for any land ever gained by war (U.S. land, British land, Saudi Land, any place that went back and forth during Roman or Ottoman rule)

So, back to the question at hand. If the land was given back to the Palestinians, would the fighting stop? Why do I get the feeling it won''t satiate their intentions?

Looking back on the last 50 years,it is clear to me that the State of Israel should have been created somewhere else then in the Middle East for since their creation,there has been nothing but problems ever since in that part of the world.

This is about the comment above - GOOD FOR YOU!!!! I agree 100% with everything you said and am SO glad to see someone finally say it to the media! It''s ridiculous to the point of obsenity how the media slants everything against Israel, or twists so much of what they write to make the Israelis look like villians, rather than the peace-loveing, homeland-loving people they are! Give us "just the facts" - leave your opinions and sensationalism out of the news report!

"A supporter of the Jewish settler movement scuffles with Israeli riot police"- that picture is the definition of a scuffle. What was he doing? Talking so loudly that the officers felt vibrations on their gear?

I''m going to leave politics out of this one because I know within a few minutes everyone from all walks of life will start disagreeing and yelling and arguing and then it''ll be like any other forum.

So, I propose this. Can we all just come together and say "media, cut it out. at least choose an appropriate subtitle for the picture. perhaps ''settler confronts police..."

Is this even possible? How long will this posting forum remain friendly?
