- Bush is right- free trade is the best way to prosperity. Protectionism only results in trade wars and increased prices for the same goods in the US. We should produce the high tech goods that command a premium and that we can produce competitively. Setting up trade barriers is not only illegal it is not smart. The workforce needs to change to new and better technologies and we can''t afford to stay with stagnant technology. A swing to protectionism is bad.

- You of course have noted how these "leaders" shriek that abandoning free trade would be bad "even if companies will keep going bankrupt and countless jobs will be lost".
That in turn requires that they have a vision for the future that will carry benefits that far outweigh the current - and predestined increasing - pain.
What is that vision? Who does it benefit? When will we know we have achieved it?
Why won''t they talk about it? - Reply to this comment
- Bush Translation: "My rich Buddies are DEPENDANT upon free trade and LOTS OF IT. They also love the cheap labor that I''ve arranged by allowing them to outsource our jobs to India". "I gotta keep my friends happy folks!"
Keep it going America or my pals are "gonna bust a cap in my A.s.s.". - Reply to this comment

- The idiocy of anyone listening to anything that George Bush says is laughable. Bush, with his "ANTIChrist" personna of touting good intentions and only delivering a progressive series of major debacles, is totally void of any integrity or credibility. George Bush is an "empty head" going through the motions of a disgraced INCOMPETENT and CORRUPT presidency. George Bush should resign so that our new President can begin to address our national problems . . . problems that are basically a result of Bush''s policies, and incopetent actions.
Otherwise, the best that we can hope for is for George Bush to subsequently be indicted for malfeasance in office, "CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY". Will someone please drag George Bush off of the world stage before he screws up anything else in his last two months in office? - Reply to this comment
- THE END IS IN SIGHT BUT NO ONE KNOWS WHEN IT MAY BE IN 1 DAY OR 100,000 YEARS AND I AM GLAD THAT I DO NOT KNOW.

- There should be NO free trade UNTIL there is adequate fair trade, Mr. Chimp.

- I''ve been looking for the signs to start popping up everywhere with "The End Is In Sight".Just read the news...there there. The end of the middle class that is.Just look where 40 years of lies have gotten this country, and those that lead us are determined to let the middle class dissolve while they take tax dollars from our children s grandkids. What has happened is nothing less than treason.
