Comments on: Indian Navy Scores Rare Win Over Pirates
Warship Repels Attack By Somali Pirates; Victory Comes As At Least 2 Other Vessels Seized
- Bravo to the Indian Navy !!! About time somebody''s navy blew these pirates outta the water. Seems like everyone''s been brainwashed to just meekly give up to corrupation and theft. I say "Bring on the torpedoes", patrol those waters with submarines owned by the various countries whose ships are at risk, and blow the pirates up before they can board the targeted vessels. At least the Indian Navy has stood up to these thieves and thwarted them. Bravo.

- Piracy is the same as terrorism. As long as we do nothing they will continue doing what they want.
Somalia is a breeding ground for this scum. Till they are cleaned out this type terrorism will continue. Turn the other cheek and they will be stealing ships from New York harbor. - Reply to this comment

It should be up to each country to defend itself with the exception of if there is oil involved. - Reply to this comment
- Maybe it''''s time to bring in a couple a Marine assault ships with harriers and attack Helos along with one carrier for long distance airborne ship tracking. It should take about 90 days to clear the shipping lanes of the vermin. There presence would allow any ship in the area to call for help at any indication these vermin. Then they can exterminate the rodents when they show their ugly little heads.

- It is good to see regional powers like India taking care of local problems like the pirates instead of asking the U.S to do it and later somebody or other blaming the Americans for whatever they do.

I agree. This not only would be a deterrent to pirates, but, it would have a deep impact on the cooperation between countries. There is nothing like a common enemy.
And to andylance1: If you had a home invasion would you want someone to bomb your house because the thieves had set up residence there? That is what has happened in Somalia. - Reply to this comment

Indians beat the Pirates.... - Reply to this comment
- I don''t know why we put up with this noise. We can sweep much of Somalia with air combat ships and literally burn all the top soil there along with everything standing, sitting or running. Further yet, we have missiles that can do some serious damage to the entrenched fortresses these pirates have erected. Why are we putting up with this?? Why is Russia tolerating this? The UAE?? Taiwan? Whats up people?

- The good news is the garbage industry just found a cheap way to unload their waste. The future of "pork bellies" rose today as the shipping industry looks for a detterent to the pirates scaling the sides of the ships. And the Indian Navy got in some much needed target practice with live ammo. There are bright sides to every situation.

- There is a linkage between General Motors and the notorious Somali pirates seizing international shipping. The politicians lack courage to do anything about it. The general public is disgusted with the 3 corporate beggars on Capitol Hill. In reality, they are corporate pirates holding the politicians hostage.
If the pirates don''t stop seizing vessels we will nuke the Somali ports and if the corporate pirates don''t stop making cars, trucks and SUVs and bleeding our treasury dry, we will nuke Detroit. Drastic problems call for drastic solutions. - Reply to this comment
