Comments on: Oil Prices Plunge Despite OPEC Cuts
1.5M Barrel-A-Day Cut Is Effort To Stem "Dramatic Collapse" Of Oil Prices
Let''s see if I have this whole situation right.
About 2 or 3 yrs ago, gas prices jump to $4.00+ per gal. Then these people with sub-prime loans started de-faulting. And now, the worlds financial system is tanking, all because of the price of oil.
It''s time to take the power away from these people. We need to treat oil as a National Security issue, as opposed to a commodity.
I''m afraid that it''s time for socialism. Capitalism certain isn''t working any longer.
BTW,, I predicted this depression when gas prices rose to over $3.00 per gallon, and no one did anything to stop it. And the ones that paid the most for this mess, was the poor people 1st, now the middle class will pay dearly for it.
And tomorrow? The rich will pay as well.....- Reply to this comment

- US elite should understand the best way for USA is economical partnership with Russia inspite of hate, developing from both sides.
All what US authorities do is only beauty words and nothing more. For more then ten years United States did''nt bring into Russia''s market anything fundamental for improvement of Russia''s inside economical situation and by this to impove own market economical situation.Sorry to say:american policians are only looking for prostitutes.
First of all,Russia should have not discriminated access to american market what very fast will balance inside american market situation and world economical one.
Now all american nation is bussy because of election:
nobody from candidates proposed just develope parnership and equal economical interests with Russia - Reply to this comment
- By the way, should we someday have a great alternative fuel for the whole world to enjoy, Americans will be paying 10 cents a mile and Europe will be paying $3.00 a mile, becuase they woulld still have to tax it to death to pay for their social projects, nanny states from crib to crypt.

- What a friggin nut case! Europe and the rest of $5.00 plus a gallon countries...DO NOT PAY gas per gallon, they pay medical cost, home rent subsudies, welfare and other major social costs through their gas per liter rule. America, uses gas tax on for highway improvements, therefore gas is cheaper in America. We pay for our social projects through payroll taxes. City and States pay for social projects mostly from sales tax, and property taxes.
So for you dummies out there! Americans pay as much as anyother country for the same amount of gasoline. We only pay for the gas, and road building, and improvements. - Reply to this comment
- Israel will take out the Iranian nukes before Obama lets it die a sad death. The Jews have said "Never Again", and they mean it. Biden is telling us that if Obama gets elected, we''ll be attacked. Combine all of this with the dissolution of Homeland Defense... We''ll be beggin Mexico to take us.

- The wholesale destuction of our economy will preclude most of us affording such simple thing as heat (from oil), gasoline, plastics (petroleum derived), fertilizer, shoes and clothing, and various other oil based products. The demand won''t be there regardless of how deeply OPEC cuts production.
The global economy is so intricately and intimately entwined that a fall from grace in one country, especially a powerhouse like the U.S. will resonate throughout the world. No one, anywhere, will be untouched by this.
Because some 90 to 95% percent of us will be a great deal poorer, we will be reduced to consumption of the barest necessities. People will lose their homes; unemployment will spike - probably to levels unimagined even during the "Great Depression"; discretionary funds will be nonexistant - in fact the hard choices between food and fuel or clothing and medicine will be facts of life even for the relatively well off. No one''s even going to think about buying gas.
And that''s here. In countries that were impoverished to begin with, the situation will be unimaginably worse. Routine starvation, mass migrations, continent wide conflict and outright warfare, explosive increases in epidemic diseases and delibrate genocide have the potential of reducing global population year over year for the first time since 1347...
Of all the things OPEC could worry about, the price of oil should be their least. - Reply to this comment

- CArter had an alternative fuels program in place, but that imbecile Ronald Reagan put the screws to that and the higher CAFE fuel mileage standard. Imagine if we had 30 years of alternative fuels research under our belts, and a national fleet of autos getting over 40MPG. Reagan''s oil butt buddies came first though......

- Just listen to these people now. Why it wasn''t they''re doing or concern when oil reached $150 / barrel. They laughed at us all the way to the bank. Now it''s a nice feeling that their GNP & sales is taking a hit.
They cleaned our clocks by charging us excessive amounts while our government & other countries just raked in the fuel taxes.
Now most of us and the people in other countries don''t have enough left to pay for our heat, food, & other basic necessities. We do with less. A recession is just what we need. Why should we buy more consumer goods that we only have to charge and go deeper in debt for? I doubt if they will learn anything from this but serves them right.
Just for starters By boycotting the buying of these outlaws oil the consumer can get some respect & relief again. - Reply to this comment
