- OK, so Bill Clinton is admitting big mistake, Alan Greespan is admitting a big mistake today. CAn the democrats once and for all admit they''re not brilliant and when it comes to the economy they''re a bit off.

- oh get over it, Conservatives, change is coming and you are lost in the bottom of the sewer with all your BS. It''s over, get used to it. You gave us Bush for 8 years, you should be thankful that we''re giving you someone who will actually help your pocketbook. You don''t deserve it, but you get to take advantage of it.

- Too bad Bill Clinton wasn''t in a position of power to do something about it. Reminds me of his saying he''d favor the de-criminalization of marijuana AFTER he''d been president for eight years.

- feddupp,
Teach him how to fish and he will not be forced to buy your fish.

Bvllsh*t, all UN agreements are ''statements of intent'', NOT requirements or laws.
Just like Kyoto: Kyoto was never a requirement imposed on the U.S. (indeed, its possible most of its signatories never met its conditions). Its a ''statement of intent'' i.e. we INTEND to work toward solving this problem!!

- Re the comment from gotravel1: The United States is indeed the country that gives the most in aid measured in number of dollars, but benevolence can be measured only in terms of percentage of GDP. Norway, with a population of under five million, gives 0.92% of GDP in aid and ranks highest. The US, at 0.14%, ranks lowest among all developed countries.

- Obama''s GLOBAL POVERTY ACT that has passed the House and is headed to the Senate, would make the U.S. responsible to the U.N.to help eliminate Global Poverty. The US is already the most benevolent nation,so why would we want to be held accountable to the UN for 0.7% of our gross domestic product. If Obama is elected,he will sign off on it,and then not only are we required to spread the wealth around in the US,but around the world!

- As it is biofuels do not make any sense whatsoever. The energy you get out of it is sometimes LESS than the energy it takes to produce it. Meanwhile grain prices skyrocket and people can''t afford food. It''s pure insanity.

- WELL Bill it could have been because you were looking at everything from the "LET THEM EAT CAKE" crowd. It is a shame that you took to being rich with such excitement. You were the first president in a long time that knew first hand what middle class and poor means. Heck the guy you replaced didn''t even know what a grocery store check out counter was. Of course now you more than likely forgot what one was yourself.

- I am in favor of taking food off the comodity markets immediately. Farmers would be better off if they didn''t have to compete with other farmers overseas.
I am also in favor of repealing the 53 cent per gallon tax on ethanol imported from sugar cane, which is far more efficient to grow per sqaure acre than corn. - Reply to this comment
- Gosh, Clinton admitting he made a mistake, that Bush was RIGHT about something, AND recognizing that a bipartisan effort did more harm than good in derailing Bush''s good idea.
Sounds like Slick Willy DID inhale this time... - Reply to this comment
- Biofuels - are we still paying subsidies to farmers NOT to grow crops, while biofuels are creating a shortage of crops?
Biofuels should have returned all farmland to active agriculture and put the farmers back to work. - Reply to this comment
