"Moscow is well aware of US efforts to push forward American imperialist hegemony in eastern Europe. The US would not allow the Soviet Union to place defensive missiles in Cuba but acts surprised when Russia becomes indignant when the US seeks to implant such missiles in former Soviet/Russian provinces or in nations which used to be a part of the Warsaw Pact.

Have you ever been to Eastern Europe? I have and I can tell you that nobody there feels that the USA is pushing anything there. I have never been to a former Soviet Republic but my guess is they feel the same way.

The USA would not allow defensive missiles in Cuba? The USA would have no say in such a matter. What we would not allow is nuclear missiles in Cuba. There is a big difference between surface to air conventional missiles and ICBM''s.

The countries of the former Warsaw Pact were nations under Soviet occupation. You make it sound like the Russians have some legitimate claim to these countries. Talk to a Czech, Pole, Hungarian or others in the region and they will tell you they hate Russia.

Russia has occupied many nations, murdered millions of people inside and outside its country and subjugated many millions more. I have yet to hear a single word of apology from Russia for their crimes. In fact, they miss the old days of subjegating their neighbors.

Bush punishing Putin? This should be a good show. Two peas in a pod - and George looked into Putin''s eye and saw his soul. Neither has a soul - interesting.

Let''s play role reversal. What if we had been smacked down for over a decade and the USSR now ruled the Earth. Wouldn''t we be a little peeved if Mexico were wanting to be a satellite state of the USSR and USSR was placing anti-missile sites in Canada?

Poke the bear. Poke it until it growls. Good idea. This is only going to make the bear remember his long forgotten claws.

MORONS!

HEY CRUSADER George is the decider. If he wants to kill and maim Muslim heathen boys and girls his Christian God told him go for it. Now the big question. Is it going to be the Iran or the Russian crusade that gives the republicans a chance to at last beat FDR''s 4 terms?

So the clueless Chimp''s idea of "punishing" Russia is to prevent the US being able to access stste of the art Russian nuclear technology......yeah I can see why Vladimir Putin and Dimitri Medvedev would be quaking in their boots at that !!!!

Lame duck figures don''t often get very far so close to the end of their term. President Bush will need support from the UN and others because of ambient circumstances - being close to voting season, with two totally different sets of people poised to take control and of which may (or may not) deal with Russia the same way.

Given Russia has a new leader, it makes more sense that he is testing his resolve. Usually others test new leaders rather than this, opposite situation.

Sorry fan

Although Bush has not, as yet taken our "freedom of speech" away---some people are jumping the gun I guess.

It''s a prejudicial move and if they only want to hear good things about this criminal regime, then it shouldn''t be an open forum.

Bush and Cheney should be severly limited to any governmental activities, they could bring us to our knees in a day with their reckless decision making.

I am more afraid of what they are capable of than anyone else.

In 8 years, they have done absolutely nothing for America or Americans. They have NOT kept us safer by refusing to capture Bin Laden.

I truly pray, they next occupiers of the White House investigate these people to the nth degree--they belong in padded cells.

"After years of tensions between Russia and Georgia, the recent fighting began Aug. 7 when Georgia''s military tried to re-establish control over its breakaway province of South Ossetia."

"Re-establishing control" meant attempted genocide by bombing innocent civilians trying to use the political process for their own determination, and as for brutal, It was more so than Russia''s response.

Bush basically says that Georgians have the right to genocide, as he tries to cast the original criminal as the victim.

As you can see, this one was not, so there must have been more to your comments. Are you paraphrasing the original intent, or are these the actual words?

Take a look at the complete hate speech on the "Kilpatrick to resign" story, see how much filth is actually allowed.

Your censored posts, must have been worse than that.
