...and I''ll bet you had to look up Russia five times to spell it correctly. You have never offered anything remotely close to insight and are extremely dim. I''ll tell you what; if you can somehow manage to prove me wrong by contributing anything remotely close to profound you''ll get my most sincerest apologies. - Reply to this comment
- Well, it''''s good to be part of Russia....
We love our country and are friendly (now as we are democratic and not at all communist)...

Yeah, I imagine it is good to be part of Russia...If you''re riding that ueber nationalistic wave, are not a minority or in any way perceieved as a dissenter toward any of the government''s policies.
Democratic? You guys must''ve have re-written the definition. Of course you have to use the correct spelling to find the correct definition...try

- No, I was referring to the cowards in the US administration, none of whom, I believe, have family serving in Afghanistan or Iraq. They will not take on Russia because they know they cannot win, and the hammering they would get will destroy their empires, and it is THAT cowardice I was referring to.

Hell tap, you and I areseeing eye-to-eye on a lot more things. Those *** beating the drum for war should be the first ones on the front lines or strapped to the bumpers of vehicles as spotters for IED''s. I nominate Rush L. and Sean H. for the first wave. - Reply to this comment
- and feel your responsibility for genoside in Ossetia for we all should feel it for such things in all the world.

At least the Russians are taking account for something! I mean come on! Genocide and ethnic cleansing. They can claim about the same level of moral high ground the U.S. can...about 3 feet below sea level. - Reply to this comment
- We can kick Russia''''s a s s with out leaving the USA or deploying us. I wouldnt mind going into Russia as I did in Iraq twice. They would definately loose just as they did 20 plus yrs ago.

If what you say is true, what a terrible shame you were able to go twice, and an even bigger shame that you are able to tell people that. I would love you to go to Russia shouting your mouth off, and please do it at least twice if that raises the odds of a more peaceful world. - Reply to this comment
- Russia how about we stop sending any food to you? I''m sure there are lot of other countries that could use our products. NATO should institute emergency measures to quickly include all countries bordering Russia into the Block before Russia invades them. This is not a cold War this can be real war. Putin is the new Stalin! those who studied History should remember Stain was in bed with Hitler when they both decided to invade Poland to start world war II. It was only when Hitler turn on his friend that Russia turn to the west for help. Russia has oil and gas but can not grow enough food to feed themselves. Again Europe is stuck in the middle and does not want to be another battle ground, so Russia can do what ever it wants even invade Poland again just to show the U.S. has limited power to protect that country. The U.S. should send a carrier group to the just outside the Black Sea to indicate we mean business, the black sea is too small to manuver in with a large group of ships, and has the bottle neck at Turkey.Russia beware we walk softly and can carry a big stick.

- Americans are good solders, we Russians are sure about that. We respect them, but when will the US government respect someone beyond their oil-interests?

When I say the US wont take on those who can fight back, I did not mean the soldiers. You will NEVER see me make a post belittling service personnel, except possibly where some have been found to commit atrocities. No, I was referring to the cowards in the US administration, none of whom, I believe, have family serving in Afghanistan or Iraq. They will not take on Russia because they know they cannot win, and the hammering they would get will destroy their empires, and it is THAT cowardice I was referring to. - Reply to this comment
- Its time for the west to understand the language of the otherside. Why did they support Kossovo unconditionally and paly double standards when it comes to south Ossetia. And if the cold war is over what is the mission of NATO?Isnt it a relic of the cold war?Now its being used as a tool by Washington to meddle in Europe at will by manipulating puppet regimes. But that language is now understoon and the objective world stands with Russia. This is equally a test that will soon prove that the united nations is a weak institution (at least as far as settling political disputes is concerned because it cant even solve problems that pit mighty powers at daggers drawn). If any country wants to make the vague claim of being the worlds policeman, then it should be ready to be an impartial police man.The double standards of some US media persons and press organs reporting only one side of the story does not help in anyway to solve the crises and using words like "warns"instead of "urge" is regretable. In this case who has the right to warn the other?

We would knock them back to theie stone age.
If you notice their tanks, they only show maybe 1 at a time or two, where is the rest? Deadlined, in the junk yard. - Reply to this comment
- OneWorldUSA - wants Chicken Independence: I think you have this the other way around. Russia is the largest market for American poultry exports. They have enough space and resource to make their own, so maybe they will take your advice. It is a good thing you didn''''t decide to nuke the chicken exporter. Sounds like you are pretty smart fella, maybe you could get a job with George W.

yes, its the beginning of another resource war. this time over a pipeline built by BP. if you people think the oil companies are not controlling the worlds militaries, you better look at the current world conflict map.

Usually I would agree with you, but the pipelines there account for such a tiny percentage of the wests energy supply. The US will not risk massive costs, massively overstretching the military, and sustaining enormous US casualties over the pipeline(s). In fact, they wont risk the above at all in these circumstances - all they can do is what they are doing, hypocritically stirring up condemnation of Russia. - Reply to this comment

Well, it''s good to be part of Russia. We love our country and are friendly (now as we are democratic and not at all communist) for all people who live in it. We have values, but among western people and more so media it have become fashionable to view us as an obstacle or... many filthy things. It''s ludicrous and risible. And sad. - Reply to this comment
- ...the US don''''t want an exchange with anyone who can fight back, hence their prolonged occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and even there they are gradually losing.

Oh please Tapsettle. Don''t jangle on Americans'' nerves. The question is not about bravery. Americans are good solders, we Russians are sure about that. We respect them, but when will the US government respect someone beyond their oil-interests? - Reply to this comment
- Grow a backbone or, bend over for the Russians it''''s your choice.
Posted by michaelm07 at 04:42 AM : Aug 28, 2008
It seams yours is not strong enough to raise your voice against stupidity and law violation perpetrated by your own government backing a fascist who gave the order to murder civilians in Ossetia! Are you deaf or what? Your backbone is needed but in other cases. To admit one''s own mistakes one need the backbone either. Take the responcibility of your government on yourself and feel your responsibility for genoside in Ossetia for we all should feel it for such things in all the world. - Reply to this comment
- The fact is, the Osettia militants, who were armed and backed with Russia''''s blessing, attacked Georgian troops and civilians. When Georgia responded, Russia invaded.
Posted by OneAmerican_ at 02:29 PM : Aug 27, 2008
Responded with murdering 2000 civilians? Nice response on Saakashvili''s part! Who should Russia have backed? Saakashvili who have been cursing Russia and Russians all the time and dreaming of cleansing Ossetia of Ossetians??? Not Russia threatens America''s self-esteem but its own backing a scoundrel - Saakashvili. - Reply to this comment
- For all the whining and hand wrining about the Russians being mad or the fear of making them angry, return of the Cold War, the Nuke threat, etc.
Grow a backbone or, bend over for the Russians it''s your choice. Their mentality has not changed since the Cold War so, is it possible the Cold War never ended and now, flush with oil and gas money they are simply reasserting themselves. The west better wake up and dig in their heels or lose all gains made since ''91. - Reply to this comment
- WHAT! They''re threatening to cut our chicken and pork supply? With Labor Day weekend comin'' up? That does it! NUKE EM!! What will be next? Maybe their mail order brides! This could get serious!

- Well, God warned everyone who knows how to read that He will turn the plans of the wicked against them. American and European corporations artificially drove up oil prices in cahoots with the OPEC cartel. Those same price increases made Russia wealthy. Now that wealth builds armor and trains Russians to fight.
