Did I say I support Bush,no.Yes America is making a risky move but I don''t see Russia standing up and wanting to talk about it.I see a country making immature threats. This base is suppose to protect European countries. The US and Russia will gain nothing from this defense base but Europe will.Russia and the US have been talking about this defense base for a long time.Russia wanted the base but the US wanted a different country to have it so they gave it to Poland. So Russia thinks if they can''t have the defense base no one can have it.I have open my eyes and think this is whats best for Europe,if Russia has a problem they can go build a defense missile base in their own country or Iran.

Your making stupid comparisons of what happen in 1945.The situation is different.Russia was only to protect South Ossetia and not to invade Georgia.

Good4Always,
The defense base in Poland will be 115 miles from Russia. At one time Russia wanted the base built in their country.I got a feeling that would have not gone over well with the rest of the countries in Europe.

Good4Always,
The missiles that were in Cuba would have been used for a sneaky offensive attack. In military science, the term defense is the act of preventing an attack,or minimizing the damage of an attack,or even prevention an enemy from conquering territory.Offense is the exact opposite. The missiles in Cuba would have created an attack not prevent one.

No the missiles in Cuba was offensive because it was the closest Russia could get to the US to launch a possible huge attack.Tell me,what the heck were the missiles in Cuba going to defend...nothing.

hwy1702,
True the US did use two nukes in World War II but it was to force Japan to surrender. We warned Japan, they brushed it off.Japan swore they would never surrender, they would fight to the every last man, that is something the US did not want to happen.Japan showed signs of not surrendering by using kamikaze tactics. The truth is the two atom bombs we dropped on Japan cause them to surrender. We can''t go back in time and see what the what the outcome would have been if we had not used the bomb. All we can do is learn from it.

Remember back to the Cuban missile crisis, the USA wouldn''''t allow Russia''''s missiles 90 miles of our coast in Cuba? What''''s the difference in what we''''re doing to them now, isn''''t it the same thing yet in reverse? It seems pretty hypocritical to me, but then the USA has always had this "do as I say, not as I do" policy%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026.Doesn''''t anyone else see this as the same thing?

I will take it one step further. ALL countries wanting nuclear arms should have them. If countries have to forgo nuclear arms then the U.S.A. should be the first. The U.S.A. is the only country in the world to use nuclear arms and they killed hundreds of thousands of INNOCENT men, women, and children without batting an eyelash.

zeeZedzee,
Thats what it seems like but the Cuban Missile Crisis is different.Russians put missiles in Cuba in case if the US attack Russia, they would be prepared to fire missiles into the US.The missiles in Cuba were strictly offensive missiles not defense. The US and Poland deal is different. The base that is going to be build in Poland is going to be a defense base, which means it will shoot down missiles. You don''t build offensive bases next to the enemy,no you build them fall away from the enemy.Russia is just mad because the base couldn''t be built in their country.
During World War II Poland fell to Russia and Germany in the Nazi-Soviet Pact. After World War II Poland was under communist control. After the fall of communism Poland made it clear that it will not have Russia pushing and telling Poland what to do.Russia fears that now that Poland has a defense missile base,it would be used on Russia. In my opinion I would rather trust Poland with the defense missile base then Russia.Poland is smart, they will not use this base on Russia. This base is suppose to protect Europe.I think this base disrupts any plans Russia might have for Europe.

AJMarine111 said, "The missiles in Cuba were offensive and the ones in Poland are defensive."

Do you truly think Russia believes that? Would Kennedy have believed it had Russia told us that very thing back in in 1962?? I hardly think so! I''m not even sure I believe it now either, it''s not like our Government has won any outstanding awards for truth telling in my 56 years on Earth!

We will see real fast who the true patriots are in America, just like we have with the peacenick-cowards whining about the war we are winning in Iraq. As long as we have the Lord, reverence for the flag, and plenty of ammo, we can easily defeat Russia. We need to remove that evil Putin.
