Day Before Promised Withdrawal, Russians Dig Major Fortifications In Key Parts Of Country
- I just met a young soldier who told me he was given the option of either going to prison or going into the military and shipping to Iraq. This is what we are down to---felons and criminals handed guns to supposedly defend us--no doubt the "fragging" and rape of the Iraqi people will only continue at this point.

- he US can do nothing and Russia knows it. It is payback time for Putin and Bush fully deserves this humiliation.

But do the people of Georgia and Ossetia deserve this? As in all wars, it is not the leaders who suffer and die for their arrogance--it is the people. Our turn will come. - Reply to this comment
- Why are all the protest signs in English? The people speak Russian and other dialects, not English and their alphabet is nothing like ours. Is this another Kodak moment brought to us by the Bush propaganda machine? lmao

- Cruise missiles and subs work great if nobody else is shooting missiles back. If I understand your post you say it can be done from within the US so that means ICBM%u2019s. I don%u2019t think the rest of the world would appreciate that and more then one country has ICBM%u2019s. And please try to figure out how to turn you caps lock button off. Makes you look a little less desirable to respond to.

- mahalapril: What you posted is all true. What you left out is how Russia and China and the countries surrounding Israel would react to such an adventure so close to their borders. The US wants more troops for Afghanistan but is having a hard time finding them not to mention the fact we as a country are broke (money)

- You cant trust Russians. They say one thing and do another. Besides they are dangerous because they dont care for the lives of their own children. Just remember the standoff with Chechen rebels when 300 kids were killed because of the stupidity of their security forces.

Ahhh my American friend. Your hypocrisy begs to be pointed out. Your once great nation is responsible for over 500,000 civilian deaths in Iraq. Your country invaded and has occupied another for over 5 years because of WMD which proved to be either an error or a lie. Furthermore, you have borrowed over 8 trillion dollars to do it. 1 day of the US in Iraq = 1 new hospital or university in China. 1 week of the US in Iraq = 1 new regional rail system in China. 1 month of the US in Iraq = 3 new Chinese tank division or fighter wings. 1 year of the US in Iraq = a new highway infrastructure for the entire nation of China. Hahahahaha - way to go my American friend. How are you finances doing? - Reply to this comment
- Sorry to say, Russia isn''t going anywhere. They will get that pipeline back, and the rest of the world can bite it. The bear is set to hibernate for the winter ha ha.

Hahahahaha - Since when? My ignorant American friend, very few countries around the world want anything to do with America as of late. Yes, there are a few but they are in the minority. You may not have noticed but your fortunes have been falling for several years now. They''ll loan you money though. - Reply to this comment
- I don''t know, maybe some people think if you are conservative you support the invasion of an independent region and destruction, loss of liberty, even life.
I don''t agree. I''m an american citizen, I generally vote conservative. I completely dismiss the Bush position in this case, as hypocritical garbage.
Constant repitition of falsehoods isn''t going to work, at least with one american..Georgia invaded, Georgia started this.
Was Russia prepared? Well they should be, they knew it was going to happen...it doesn''t take the world''s best intelligence to get advanced word sometimes...and probably this is proof of that as well. - Reply to this comment
- The bail out? We can''t help anyone...Everyone is helping us ...China has loaned us so much money, they own the country....we borrowed the money to bail out Bear Sterns from the Arabs, yes the Arabs. We are 10 Trillion in DEBT, and we give 22cents on every US dollar to other countries to pay on this debt. The dollar then, is only worth 78 cents. We are so in debt and had it covered up by the Presidents, it''s just a kick-in -the-teeth to the US public.

- Somehow, I believe there is a lot more to this. There are no coincidences in this world. This was a planned attack on Russia. They had 4 bases of Russian troops Peacekeepers in Ossetia in 2001. They have been there are 16 years. To attack them, is to attack Russia. They are the under a de facto independence territory agreement for S. Ossetia and Abkhazia. They belong there. Abkhazia is along the Black Sea...if Russia wants to dig trenches there , why not. They patrol that area for 16 years and have subs in the Black Sea. Condo con Rice is one sided blaming the Russians, and says NOTHING about where the real blame lies. It is no wonder why people in other countries call us two-sided Americans.

- I am Russian and was proud of being Russian just before that war, but not any more.
Now I feel ashamed because President Medvedev and his mate bloody KGB agent Putin are co-citizens on mine.
The EU and the US must treat those accordingly as a war criminals.
