- Notice how nobody took any notice of the huffing and puffing US administration, the discredited hypocrites who stoked it up in the first place. The outcome will be an EU closer to Russia, out of respect and trade necessities, and the beginning of the end of the US superpower status.

- Their majority is too small to override a veto, so they can''t force Bush to do anything. If you paid attention in high school government class, you''d know that.
Incidentally, polls show that Bush supporters are now just 25% of the population. That''s not big enough to matter in a Democracy. - Reply to this comment

- THIS IS PRICELESS:
"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq''s weapons of mass destruction program."
--President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998
"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
-- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002
"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
-- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002
"He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do"
-- Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

- Thank God that we have Sarkozy to negotiate a peace. Saakashvili is too dishonest to negotiate with and both Bush and McCain combined barely have the intelligence to tell what time it is. Hopefully Russia will be able to put the safeguards in place that will make sure this does not happen again.

- US Corporate press still referring to the "Russian invasion of Georgia" which of course is a complete lie. Corporate America sticks together in their web of lies more than we can imagine. They mostly support John McPOS, who is a complete sell out to Big Business.

The US doesn''t stand up to countries that are able to defend themselves. It focuses, instead, on the likes of "Eye-Rack", "Eye-Ran", Grenada, Cuba, Syria, etc.
All the more reason for the likes of "Eye-Ran" to pursue nukes. That''s the only thing the yanks respect. - Reply to this comment
- It takes the EU to find a peaceful solution. Take note, all you neo-cons. Violence does not always have to be met with violence.

the only remaining part of the US military that''s available - the 12th Cletus Army has reported itself too busy scratching and wobbling their fat yellow bellies so Bush will not be launching an invasion - Reply to this comment
- This lily white view of the Georgian President as a trust worthy character just because he has the backing of Bush is naive. Stalin was a Georgian; think the worst Mafioso type of characters. Everything the Georgian President accuses Russia of he is guilty of. Russia was inching for an opportunity to tell the US to stop meddling in their back yard and the attempt by Georgia to seize territory that has been under Russian control since 1992 has offered the opportunity. The US has arrogantly been training Georgian troops, negotiating missile defensive/offensive weapons and seeking a power sphere in the region in the name of democracy. How would we feel if Russia was meddling in our affairs? American hypocrisy and the madness of the Republican Party are what we need to fear, not Russia. Now Medvedev and Putin will restore order after dismantling the US experiment in the region and gain credibility with the many countries that no longer respect or trust the US. The irony in the whole matter is that Russia is a Constitutional Republic with strong democratic principals just like the US.
