Posted by causeway_m at 10:47 PM : Aug 11, 2008
I don''t know which is actually worse.
But for a man who''s fought in combat for his country to have his patriotism called into question ranks right up there, I''ll tell you. - Reply to this comment

you said that Obama was not a neocon - facts are that Obama would have to be a massive departure from Chimy to not be a neocon
And you yourself admit that Obama is not that big a change from Bush - Reply to this comment

- so explain exactly why the genius Obama voted to confirm this idiot to head Centcom - which encompasses Afghanistan - the very area he claims is the central front of his "war on terror"

You''ll have to ask Obama his reasons. I wasn''t at the meeting when he made the call. - Reply to this comment

Knock yourself out.
I could really care less about what a kid runner from Bangladesh did last summer on his school vacation last summer (known as "background'' reports or some such) during sports coverage.
Pure drivel. - Reply to this comment
- Ah, did you follow the talks in NATO this past spring and how hard Bush pushed to fast track Georgian membership? Who obstructed it, the French and Germans. You might be able to blame Bush for many things, but not this one.

This has to be the most intelligent post on this whole topic. Georgia & Ukraine were wanting to become members of NATO, but Russia threatened to nuke them & the population of both nations did not entirely favor it. I think Georgia does now. - Reply to this comment
- Actually, I''''ve been called many things but never deluded.
Maybe because I choose to conduct myself in a manner whereby the adjective "deluded" is that last one that would come to another''''s mind.
And again, you insist in portraying neocon ideology as the personal ideology of all Americans.
Such is flat not the case.
Again OBAMA IS LEADING IN THE POLLS/ CAN YOU FATHOM WHAT THAT MEANS?

Odd - cos only a few posts back you admitted that you''d been called deluded and worse for opposing the war
Obama is leading in the polls is he......as I recall Dukakis was leading in the polls at this sort of time in 1988 - and yet you americans chose Chimpy''s daddy
As I recall Carter was leading in the polls in ''80 and yet you americans chole the old drooler Reagan
And Obama''s views are not altogether different from McCain''s:
- he has said he would leave US troops in Iraq didn''t mention anything about having Iraqi approval to do that
- said he would attack Pakistan unilaterally yet condemns Russia for attacking Georgia - so hw''s that different from McCain and Bush ?
- says that he will support Israel unconditionally - how exactly is that different from McCain and Bush ?
- depends that Iran stick to the NNPT while refusing to commit america to doing the same
All in all Obama is not the radical departure from ole Chimpy that you claim him to be

- What if Obama is over polling by 4% like he consistently did in the primaries.
Do not fall in love with any politician as they will break your heart.

McCain could be over-polling as well, but until the GE, it''s the only meter we have. - Reply to this comment
