Ahmadinejad Dismisses Call To Halt Uranium Enrichment Despite Threats Of Further Sanctions
- So much for bluffing. The world knows that the U.S. isn''t going to be invading or attacking any more countries. We don''t have the people nor the money for more invasions and occupations, and oil price increases are wrecking what''s left of the U.S. economy.

- America needs to realize: the more of a hardline we give to the Islamic freaks in control of Iran, the more legitimacy we give them in the eyes of the population they control. It''s important to remember that the Islamic forces in Iran ARE NOT HELD IN VERY HIGH REGARD, especially by the younger people of Iran. Also remember that IRAN IS A DEMOCRACY. YES! Ahmadinejad barely won his election to the Presidency, and is using this ''crisis'' against him to cement his ''street-cred'' among likely Iranian voters. Indeed, its likely that GW Bush is Ahmadinejads number one supporter for public offic, given the kind of political boost ahmadinejad gets from Bush''s hard Iran line.
Convince the Iranian people that there''s no CONSPIRACY against them (pretty hard to do considering what Bush just did to the leadership of neighboring Iraq), and they''ll feel free to judge their leadership based on their real performance, rather than this ''trumped up'' threat from abroad.
The way to think about Ahmadinejad, is that he''s the Iranian GW Bush: perfectly willing to gain reelection by convincing his population that an imminent threat is out there, ready to pounce the moment he isn''t reelected. - Reply to this comment
