Did y''all know that QANTAS is the only major airline to never have had a crash! This incident came awful close.

BTW demslie is the BIGGEST isdiot on the poltical boards - I guess it got laughed off one too many times and is now trying to raise hackles over here. Best to ignore it.

I think David Learmount is grandstanding. If a Qantas spokesman is willing to acknowledge a hole two and a half or three yards wide who is Learmount to contradict that with only a photo for reference?

If anyone should be downplaying this it''s Qantas. They seem to be telling the truth. Learmount has no business analyzing the damage without actually viewing it.

Again, no one said anything political until this demslie2u moron brought it up. Ignore him/her/it/whatever. It''s just trying to pick a fight. Idiot.

The demslie2u comment is inappropriate. Nobody said anything political at all in their comment. Yet this person is trying very hard to tie it back to that. Seems like you''re trying to force some kind of argument. Try the political section if you want to have an argument.

Aren''t you kind of stretching it with the political tie-in? This is an air safety thing, not a political thing.

Seems to not have been intentional, at least at this point. Very glad everyone is safe and kudos to those pilots.

Statistically speaking, it''s far, far more dangerous to drive your car to work.

But I''m scared to death of sharks in the ocean so I guess my opinion on this topic doesn''t count for too much.

Born again! Lucky as what. If whatever caused that explosion had been a few feet ahead the wing structure wouldn''t have supported the blast, and the hole would have been twice as large.
Benedict or not, there''s a plane full of new believers!
