Secretary Of State Accuses Iran Of Giving Diplomats The Runaround At Six Nation Talks
- Irans nuclear program presents a 2 part problem for the World. In part one, the majority of nations involved with making decisions and voting on the Iranian penalty sanctions all agree Iran must not be allowed to make a nuclear weapon and must stop enriching uranium! Part two is the difficult part and in most cases where the unanimous U.N. voters start to fracture and that is; what to do about it and how do you stop Iran from going forward with its nuclear enrichment activities? Sanctions won''t work in my view, Iran has too much oil money and can always rely on Syria and Venezuela to defeat sanctions, not to mention Russia! The most disturbing aspect to all of this is the cocky, brazen and arrogant way Iran acts without nuclear weapons, can you imagine Irans behavior with nuclear weapons? Iran really would be intolerable and the World, every nation better seriously think long and hard about a nuclear Iran big time! Like the saying goes, you can pay me now or you can pay me later!

They are only nut jobs if you believe the same agitprop machine that gave us the lies that led to the Iraq genocide. From outside the influence of the anti Iran media campaign, it looks to most people that Iran is simply resisting US hegemony, claiming the right to self defense even as the Bush administration liars beat yet more war drums. - Reply to this comment

Don''t be surprised if Israel orders the US to do the dirty work, after all, Sharon did say that "We control the Americans and the Americans know it". - Reply to this comment
- When the Iranians nut jobs running their country finally get serious, it may be too late for them. The Iranians I have known personally are wonderful people who are bright, intelligent and kind. What are they doing with nut jobs for leaders ?

- "From time to time, it is important to invigorate the diplomacy," she said. "I think that the fact that we went may have been a bit surprising to the Iranians, and they didn''t react in a way that gave anyone any confidence."
This coming from the lead cheerleader for Bush''s lies that caused the Iraq invasion.
"Yeah right, the world is supposed to believe the US now?"
Rice should ****, go home, and prepare for the war crimes trials. - Reply to this comment

One might also ask the question punishment for what, something that "might" happen ten years in the future?
Or are the neocons still in a hissy fit because the Iranians threw out the US puppet, Reza Pahlavi, and his murderous Savak, all those years ago? - Reply to this comment

- They need to get rid of Rice and all of them folks at this Administration.
They waste so much time puffing out their chests.
Obama had it right, just show these countries a little respect by not demanding pre-conditions and then you get something accomplished.
Republicans stupidly think "no talks unless there''s pre-conditions but meanwhile you can enrich."
You look stupid folks. I never understood Republican Machoism. It''s stupid it gets you no where. You actually look weak around the world because of the stupidity of it all. It''s childish it''s just plain stupid.
Offer some respect to a soveriegn nation and you will get the same back. If you don''t then it''s a different story but make sure you take the high ground first to set the example.
I don''t need to die in WWIII because Republicans want to play Cowboy with Russia and China who are more then willing to protect Iran. - Reply to this comment
- Her boss called them part of the evil empire and invaded their neighbors. Now she''s pretending to be a diplomat. I would expect Iran to try to make a nuclear bomb. I wouldn''t expect much progress in any talks.
And tbweb''s comment about us being stalemated while our troops are in Iraq, within their missle range, is a good point. - Reply to this comment
- Iran''s not serious? Really? Who could have guessed THAT?

- As long as the U.S. has 15 Brigades on the ground inside Iraq within Irans missile range, Iran does not fear a U.S. attack and said as much. The U.S. needs to withdraw from Iraq to effectively deal with Iran, the U.S. needs to minimize Irans targets, Iran knows where U.S. forces are massed inside Iraq and has already targeted them. The U.S. needs to redeploy from Iraq and focus on an Iran and Pakistan border strategy. The only time Iran gets serious about taking action on its nuclear program is when Russian support starts to fade, the U.N. needs to weaken Irans Russian support before Iran really gets serious. In the past when Russia got upset with Iran, Iran got real quiet!

- "They can''t go and stall and make small talk about culture, they have to make a decision," she said. "People are tired of the Iranians and their stalling tactics."
exactly. Go Ms. Rice - Reply to this comment
- They''re going to pull to same cr@p that Saddam Hussein did. Wasting everybody''s time talking in circles. They need to negotiate seriously for the sake of the Iranian people.

- If anyone is not serious about actually sitting down to talk about anything, it''s that witch Rice. The administration has never, from day one, been willing to "discuss with terrorists," even in a diplomatic setting. The truth be known, peaceful negotiation is the required job, not a reward to be revoked as punishment.
