If Bush really only uses military force on those who are committing human atrocities, the U.S. would have been in Sudan a long time ago. Unfortunately for the Sundanese, the U.S. has no financial incentives to go into Sudan.

To johngoodnews:

You are incorrect that the genocide in Darfur is Muslims against Christians. This would more accurately describe the previous genocide in Southern Sudan. Darfur is predominantly Muslim.

It''s difficult to describe precisely who is the target of the genocide. I believe it''s primarily cultural: Arabic black Muslims attacking "black" black Muslims. There are subtle differences in language and shade of black.

The leaders of Sudan are certainly whackjobs, but Darfur is *not* about holy war.

it never ceases to amaze me how you people can blame Bush for every ill in the world. There was genocide in Sudan long before Bush took office..Talk to some missionaries who worked there, then you''ll get the truth with no spin....

Interesting. Just exactly "who" is going to enforce a verdict against al-Bashir? If I were Israel, I would be watching this in horrified silence and beefing my defense forces up big time and once again understanding why it should not rely on anyone else for protection. The mid-East is loaded with muslim whackjobs who will kill anything not muslim: Christians in Darfur and Jews in Israel. It''s all the same to these whackjobs--if you''re not muslim, then the only thought is "I kill you!" Why the moderate muslim world doesn''t do something about this is a question that never seems to be asked forcefully--or, maybe it''s because the moderate muslim world really isn''t moderate and takes pleasure at watching one of its bad boys do the nasty for them???

A two-bit dictator running a barbaric cesspool being charged with genocide? Gee what a surprise! You want to bet what''s probably going to happen next? Right... nothing.

And the Arab''s & the USA will take control of Darfur''s massive oil reserves. Mission accomplished.

Just another one of seven countries Bush & Cheney planned to take out when they took office.

In an interview published by the French, dedefensa.org journalist Amy Goodman''s interview with General Wesley Clark.

Clark stated he viewed a defense department memo that described how the U.S. was going to take out seven countries in five years...."starting with Iraq, then Syria and Lebanon, then Libya, then Somalia and SUDAN, and back to Iran."
