2. Repealing the federal gas tax will only lower the price of gas by 20 cents.
3. Offshore drilling will only lower the price by 8 cents.

5. Building more nuke plants will allow more oil for trasportatio as opposed to energy but only lower gas by 5 cents per gallon.

The only thing that will lower gas prices today is lowering the gas tax and of course the Republicans have not introduced a bill to do this. They have only talked about it. Lowering gas by this 18 cents would just increase demand and the prices would go right back up. We need alternatives and the high price of gas serves as our incentive.

The other solutions are years away and the savings will not materialize in any event unless there is a reduction in demand.
