j-whitman, how to fight is up to conjecture and opinion, most who frequent these posts would rahter blame America than fight. With over four decades of history and various methods behind us showing no results apeasement is no longer an option and fighting without total support is not working, so in my opinion it''s time to win by force not retreat and hope for the best. Don''t spew the same tired crapp in response, these extremists fight for an ideology not a country.

notblue,,,, 4,100 American troops & over 4,443 coalition troops have died trying to fight --- You owe it to their families to start getting it right as well as to the hundreds of thousands of civilians killed who are just like us.

notblue,,, It''s still How to fight, not who''s afraid to fight, most of your support is from people who have no concept of how to fight or what terrorism is in the first place.

list one example where negotiating has worked with terrorists.

British and the IRA, several times it has workee, and times it hasn''t. It depends on having a third party of neutrality and power. The situation there is also a great one in understanding the similarities between a ''freedom fighter'' and a ''terrorist''. Much more grey area in the world than black&white. Too bad people paint with single color brushes so often, the world isn''t so simple as that.

The fact that Americans today fear terrorism as much or more than my generation feared nukes from Russia is , well.... pitiable. It''s like the new generations of americans are afraid of their own bedsheets. What is worse than that though is those of my generation who have taken this new fear upon themselves as if starving for fear itself. I really wish folks would grow up instead of revert to childish outlooks (born again? grow up first)
