Every time i go to the store and see a disabled person begging for money i give to them. They do not have welfare programs here to help the needy. It is a hard way of life for most of these people, but i never hear them complain.
They may as well not--for it will do no good. complaining and whining and the sense of entitlement is a relatively new phenomena brought on primarily by programs that were intended for short term relief becoming generational and by parents who spoiled their children (in this country) and eschewed accountability and responsibility.
Kudos to you for giving in a positive way--candy may seem like a great thing to do--and in a short sighted way it is--but it is detrimental. If people knew all the dangers of sugar, from tooth decay to the deterioration of organs and promotion of insulin resistance, we would no more offer that type of product as a "gift/reward/treat than we would proffer a cigarette to a child.

I sure as hell don''t want a Muslim for a president and I don''t want a president thats gonna allow illegal immigrants to stay here while we have to pay taxes. Change is definitely needed in this country. Do away with WIC and Foodstamps. I''m sick of seein these ghetto b****es buying all their food at my expense, carrying a Gucci handbag and wearing so much jewelry even Liz Taylor would say its ostentatious, and then load their groceries into their Cadillacs and Lexus''. Their six (or more) kids walking around wearing Jordan''s and Air Force Ones but they can''t bring pencil and paper to class. I love this country but there is definite change needed!

Why it is hard to understand,That Invasion of Iraq was for one simple reason to assure hold on Oil reserves.

Afghanistan carries double benefit for Neocons,
1st and foremost is Gas Pipe line to pass through,without royalty.
2nd reason is the third highest source of American street economy is Narcotics.
Why on earth Neocon suckers would it give it a ***,if US & coalition solders lose their lives,or how many civilian causalities happen there in Iraq or Afghanistan.Off course fatalities don''t make a dent in Neocon wallet.
Regarding prostitution , it is a fact that poverty is main reason for it in third world countries.
For America it is a matter of highest pride, No one can thrive in social contacts without offerring chicken leg, Foregoing Governor of New-York, well connected Madams or Canadian Minister of foreign affairs is just a fortnight time of stories.
Elevation from poverty from third world countries will make case for curbing prostitution, while extra wealth for westerner societies will increase it.

You apparently have never been a parent. These children often grow up without a childhood. This is a time they should be enjoying their lives not worrying about the problems they will face as adults. I am respected in my neighborhood because i try to make the children happy. I talk with the adults and am always respectful to them. I am only one so can only do so much, but just maybe i am helping improve the American image abriad. What are you doing ? - Reply to this comment

- Something i learned from a friend while he was working in Indonesia. I pass out candy to the children here. Some have parents to poor to buy them candy so is a special treat for the children. I started by passing out to children with their parents present.

Wow!!! You gave all the kids candy--and before you they did not have any? Will you still be around to pay for their fillings, dentures, toothaches and rotten teeth--or do you just stop with spreading the sugar poison and leave the after effects to someone else?

- Alot of these comments border on being totally ridiculous. I travel extensively. I like to see different cultures. I also try to make a good impression of America wherever i go. I have been in Thailand for 18 months. I love the people, the culture and the country. I will be returning home in September. Can''t wait to travel some more. I started by passing out to children with their parents present. The parents introduced me to other neighbors. Now i know everyone in my neighborhood. My hope is these children will grow up to realize not all Americans are bad. I also have a elephant come to my house every Satuday. I feed him and now he knows to come to my door because he remembers. I love animals. Yesterday he called out to me he was outside. By the time i got to the door he was trying to ring the doorbell with his trunk. I fed him and before he left he hugged me with his trunk. Animals can be responsible for some beautiful experiences also.I see Americans come here wih the attitude they are better than the people here. The peopl here also see this attitude. I learned to show respect for the culture in every country i go to. I only hope i am doing some good for he American image.

- I think like every where else the raids are conducted when protection money is not paid to the corrupt officials. If these girls didn''t get proper documentation to enter the country showing they have legitimate jobs they wouldn''t be there. If someone was not being paid off they wouldn''t get clearance to enter. It always starts at the top.
