Taliban Claim Bomber Killed More Than 10 Soldiers; Coalition Says Only 4 GIs Injured
- A "Western military analyst" was asked earlier this month about reports that Osama Bin Laden was seen on the slopes of K2, the world%u2019s second highest mountain on the Pakistan-China border, or in the Khost Province of Afghanistan.
His response was stunning in both its honesty and its frustration.
"We don''t have a clue where he is or even may be,%u201D the Western analyst said. %u201CWe have had NO credible intelligence on OBL since 2001. - Reply to this comment

i''ll bet gwb couldn''t locate afghansistan on a map. while he was running for the presidency in 2000 ... he had many ''subject matter expert'' sessions covering all types of issues ... including those relating to foreign policy.
why is the standard for what the candidate knows or doesn''t know ... or how smart the candidate is suddenly an issue? hasn''t seemed to be one bit an issue since 2000. - Reply to this comment
- TAKE NO PRISONERS,,,
we have defeated fascist nazi terrorislam before,,,
after america became a country,,, fascist nazi terrorislam demanded that america pay protection money or they would attack americas ships and enslave all on board,,,
thomas jefferson and james madison was having non of that,,, and they sent americas military to kick fascist nazi terrorislams arses in barbary war one and barbary war two,,, why two wars,,, fascist nazi terrorislamists break treaties,,, sound familiar??? can you say iraq,,,
It is a settled policy of America, that as peace is better than war, war is better than tribute. The United States, while they wish for war with no nation, will buy peace with none. President James Madison - Reply to this comment
- Bin Laden''s taste for homosexuality is very extreme. He really needs to moderate. Osama is turning Waziristan into a playground for disgruntled g''ays. Bin Laden and his lover, Zawahiri must be dealt with. The Coalition should infiltrate the rebel district with spies. Bin Laden would never suspect a tall, lanky type of man with an underworld reputation.

- You see, How it makes sense here, that No Tax, no Government without representation.
Talibans will neither accept Mr. Hamid Karzai nor they will talk to American forces.
Karzai has proven to be traitor of Pashtuns, and Americans are not worth trusting.
Prior to 911 American lobbied against Taliban & denied them development grants committed by UN compacts (Reconstruction from devastations of Cold war).
Prior to 911 Taliban''s would have had strong case of sovereignty of Afghanistan and would have worked out on Alqaida & question of Terrorism, US Neocons used liars like Tony Blair & Mush to justify war over diplomatic dialog.
Six Years down the road, there is no light at end of tunnel, It will be foolish to assume that IPI gas pipe line project can go any further that picture -op for ground breaking.
It will be very foolish to assume that,Gas pipe line will stay safe by pushing out people of the land.US and allies can''t realise their dream of cheap gas without putting first the rights of people of the land.
Make no mistake that puppet government of Mr. Hamid Karzai can never govern beyond Kabul, which is & will always remain spit away for Taliban.
You better know know that Pashtun chewing Tobacco (Naswar)spit hearts & will have persisting itch in arse of Mush & Bush. - Reply to this comment
- I can''t help but think of how much better a place Afghanistan would be now if only the United States'' focus wasn''t diverted somewhere else. Now almost every five, six months Secretary Gates has to go before NATO and other bodies and beg members to send more of their military personnel to a theatre that is all but lost.
Complicity from Pakistani sympathizers obstructing the search for, in not protecting, Bin Laden and the Taliban on one side and drug traffickers elsewhere, feeding the corruption that has underminded the Afghan government in the midst of its'' nacency. RepubliCons and NeoClowns don''t even talk about Afghanistan anymore because it''s indefensiblity. The total failure of Cheney/Bush policy in this region eclipses even that of the Soviets of the 1980''s and will become legiondary in its repercussion for years to come. - Reply to this comment

DEMONIC-RAT UN-SUPREME COURT JUDGES TRASH THE CONSTITUTION,,,
Scalia asserted that the decision will have dire consequences. He warned that some detainees will be freed and return to war against America: "The nation will live to regret what the court has done today."
Supreme Court maintains post-9/11 course on Gitmo
The Supreme Court''''s 5-4 decision Thursday declaring for the first time that Guantanamo detainees have a constitutional right to a hearing in U.S. courts is a milestone. It also reinforces a familiar court pattern in the post-9/11 world of insisting on judicial review of detainee cases.

- Hey, CBS - why would you asterisk out the word "d-a-r-n" as you did? It''s not exactly a profanity and makes no sense whatsoever.

- Remember the Foreign Relations sub-committee that Obama rushed to lay claim as its Chair and whose sole responsibility it was to address issues related to the Afghanistan War just to puff up his resume to make it appear that he has in fact national security experience? This is the same sub-committe Obama has yet to call a meeting on for purposes of discussing all related issues to this war, because, well, he''s just too *** busy campaigning. Hey, Obama, are enjoying cowering behind this excuse because you quite frankly wouldn''t have a clue where to even begin on these pressing matters? So much for national security experience and a genuine interest in the Afghanistan War front.

- [So how is it that CBS and the liberal media continue to tout as news rantings that come from the mouths of filthy Muslims who were born to lie? What does that say about Liberals? I can tell you this, not much. Not much at all.]

the story i just read (above) has references to the taliban claims ... and the statements from other sources characterizing the attack completely differently than the taliban ... includinng a reference to the fact that the taliban regularly exaggerate their claims.
so what''s your problem ... besides your irrational issues in relation to liberals? - Reply to this comment
- WWII also cost more than 100 to 1 ratio in lives and finances. Over 70 million people died. The left of todays brains would melt and run out their ears. The good news is it would be a small puddle.
