U.S. Weighs Air-Dropping Food To Cyclone Victims But Gates Says Not Without Myanmar's OK
- Let''s not push our aid on other counties. Let''s get our own house in order. We''ve got our own homeless, unemployed, high taxes, high fuel prices, and of course our veterans that come home and get stripped of their benefits etc by our elected officials.

- As much as it''''s great to help the world, if they refuse it, will the supplies help our own?
Also, why did they deny U.S. aid? That''''s even more bizarre.

It is because they are a military dictatorship & the United States does not recognize such governments. We don''t even recognize Belarus or Libya. - Reply to this comment
- We should take care of our problems first, even though one of our mottoes are "We are the country that gives a ***" but still China is their ally, so no need to worry.

- Myanmar has a terrible government, but I have to give them credit this time, they know (like most of the rest of the rest of the world) that U.S. rescue workers always contain more than a few CIA agents.

- If they do not want our help then lets use the money for our vets here at home. They are being cut off from benefits. Many are struggling and homeless. It seems like it would be good to start taking care of our own backyard before worrying about a neighbors...

well WELCOME TO HUMANITY...it is often that the people who WHINES about the warrior ethics (even though the same LOVESSSS watching NFL, WWF, Cage fighting) are the weak minded and the physically unqualified..
IN THE TOTEM POLE of human classification..these are the ones that ''gets sacrificed and thrown into the volcano" - Reply to this comment
- its amazing that despite the inhumanity against these people, a lot of anti-bush anti american liberals found this as a perfect place to hate over someone WHO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MATTER AT HAND..and to elaborate thier DISDAIN against this country

- My first instinct to is to ask "Why help a country that doesn''t want our help?" Unfortunately, the victims of this do need help. How many more thousands need to die before they accept a handout.

- Myanmar is run by hopelessly egotistic old men.
''We refuse U.S. aid: we''d rather another 100,000 of our people die a horrible death of disease and starvation than let U.S. aid come in''
That military ''boys club'' and our own El Presidente have alot in common. He''s done the right thing to offer aid, at least.
I believe he''s done the wrong thing by having the military provide it: why have we so seriously dried up funding for our own ''Peace Corp''. Kennedy''s dream of a corp funded to help create peace and stability has been killed by the ''old men'' of America, who''s money extends only to the miltary.

Hi Pot, say hi to Kettle (the rest of the insult-flinging people here).
Re-read your post. You just called people homos for insulting others but in so doing, you just insulted others. So, were you speaking about yourself? - Reply to this comment
