I have never studied Saudi culture, but most cultures do things for reasons they believe worthy. Certainly worth studying, if we agree with the philosophies or not.

Do I believe it is barbaric? Possibly. So is rape, and men do it because they feel they have a right to take what they want. Not my call. Fascinating to observe, however. There''s a lot of humanity that''s worth observing, that I will say.

Let''s say the Saudi empire became a democracy, and its people decided to keep things the same, womens'' dress and all... what then?

Lastly, 15 people of Saudi origin were involved in 9/11. This does not mean they were sent by the Saudi government. Was Tim McVeigh sent by Bill Clinton to blow up the Oklahoma building? This is why we have to become more energy independent of this anti Western, anti modern sick society, by using NUCLEAR ENERGY, Drilling in Alaska, Using more COAL, hybrid cars, colletive forced transportation of our American Workers to save fuel, limiting buying gas to only those holding jobs having high incomes on certain days due to importance, rest ride buses. We need to nationalize electicty companies, and shut off cable and Satellite transmission between 12 midnigt to save more energy, and raise rates after midnight, and more if WE ARE SERIOUS, as a progressive movement.
