Jimmy Carter was busy on his "I love Hamas" tour at the time. I''m not sure where Jesse & Al were. Usually Jesse & Al are all over this kind of white on black violence. - Reply to this comment

- Yorktown, the battle that defined the war was won with French and German troops carrying the brunt of the battle and the French Navy blockading the Brittish ships and bombarding British positions on land... Small details that are casually left out of our history books...

- Somalia is the destiny of all but a few pockets of Africa. Overpopulated, vicious tribal warfare, ignorance, inadequate natural resources and destruction of their own ecological survival systems. When countries like Kenya, with the world''s highest population death rate (per capita) and still the world''s highest population growth rate (over 4% per year) continue to destroy the foundations of their life support systems (and all other creatures as well), what hope do you think exists for these people?

- Congratulations to the French. A most professionally carried out plan.

- "We have to know why people turn to piracy in the first place in order to try and prevent it.
Preventing piracy should be easier than fighting it."

I think they answered this in the article...
"Somalia has been wracked by more than a decade of violence and anarchy and does not have its own navy. A transitional government formed in 2004 with U.N. help has struggled to assert control."
Does not sound like an easy fix to me. - Reply to this comment
