Comments on: Jimmy Carter To Meet With Hamas Leader
Carter Center Would Only Confirm The Former President Was Traveling To The Middle East
- Yet another American "diplomat" who has absolutely NO concept of what we''''re facing in the Middle East. Instead of globe trotting and trying to talk to people that you don''''t understand, Mr. Carter, try reading the Quran...BOTH versions.
How can you even think that Mr. Carter has "absolutely NO concept of what we''''re facing in the Middle East." I defy you to come up with a single person who would have more idea what to do. Oh I''m sure he has read the Quran and both versions, and I bet he understood it better than you. - Reply to this comment

Time for your medications bud!
Carter and Gore both won the Peace prize. I feel Gore should travel with Carter on this very worthwhile cause. It also will give these two losers an excuse to stay in the media. - Reply to this comment

You will very quickly see that you, as an "unbeliever," are the equivalent of cattle in the eyes of the believers. Now, if you are comfortable trying to negotiate with them from that position, then you''re as dumb as you appeared to be when you were president.

- "Sure, speaking is better than war -- but it''''s not his position to "take charge".

Actually yes it is, that''s exactly his position. He is an international diplomat for peace, that''s his job and he''s the best person for the job. He can broker peace as an independent entity, very few are better positioned or suited for the job.
Say what you will about his presidency, even he admits it was less than stellar. But his life since the presidency has been spent relentlessly pursuing international peace. Only the meanest fool would give him less than a commendation for that. - Reply to this comment
- What is wrong with Jimmy Carter? Sure, speaking is better than war -- but it''''s not his position to "take charge". He should continue his "Habitat for Humanity" and leave Hamas to those more qualified. I am inclined to believe he is in the throws of dimensia.

Who the he11 is more qualified? Bush? Condi? Maybe Colin Powell but he has no say so any more. In the meantime, Carter got a Nobel Prize for his efforts for peace in the region - and he''s not qualified? Unbelievable. - Reply to this comment

Well said for this portion. The rest and your other post - a little over the top I think. - Reply to this comment
- You are absolutely correct!! Maybe we''''ll luck out and he will be abducted for about 8 years. When returned, maybe he will actually have learned not to be running around the world badmouthing his country.
